Top 20 Composers for August
Mark Isham's Crash
The soundtracks of Mark Isham have been based on a wide variety of instrumental forces, from small intimate groups through jazz ensembles to full orchestras. His film music has included "The Net", "Blade", "The Cooler" and his oscar-nominated score for "A River Runs Through It". This sonic variety has been increased even further with his score to Crash which consists almost entirely of computer-based sounds with a dash of solo vocals. Isham describes this method of music creation as "returning to the bedroom" and, in additional to the domestic location of the composer's equipment, the resulting music is also somehow intimate and personal. Isham demonstrates his versatility by moving us with raw sound. The film will be released in the UK on 12th August and the soundtrack is available now. More...

Hello, thanks for stopping by my website. Hope you enjoy your visit and can find the information you're looking for. Please send me an email if there's anything else that you'd like to see here. I'm really excited about my new album, Feeling Good . This CD contains 15 tracks and is a collection of previous work. We've spent a lot of hours in the selection of the songs and I'm very happy with the outcome. Feeling Good is definitely reggae with a pop, rock and Latin feel. It contains the danceable Me Lembeh Loverman and Come Dance With Me as well as the soothing and melodic ballads In My Own Way and Say Something . There is also a new track, Feeling Good , which has a solid bass line and beautiful guitar, riffs. This CD is definitely full of positive vibration. Get your copy now at CDBaby or at amazon.com . We have clips of all songs so stop by and listen a while. You'll enjoy it. This site designed and developed by Chico Khan

W HAT IS CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC?
Christian Music has been around in some form for almost 2000 years, since the time of Christ. But what exactly is Contemporary Christian Music ? Before the early 1970's, Christian Music could be categorized as either Traditional Hymns Southern Gospel or as Traditional Black Gospel styles. From the Peace Movement of the late 1960's came a time of Christian revival for young people across the country. This concurrent movement was known as the Jesus Movement . From the Jesus Movement , came many new Christians who were anxious to tell others about Jesus, but found the traditional methods of sharing and worshipping restrictive and out-dated. Many of these Jesus People started developing new worshipping and witnessing styles. A effort was made to write music which was culturally relevant or contemporary . The desire was to create music that would appeal to the current searching generation. Thus was born

2nd Chapter of Acts
Contemporary Christian Music (or CCM ) is a somewhat outdated term originally used in the to describe a new form of pop rock music that was lyrically based in the Christian faith . This music had its roots in " Jesus Music ", which sprung from the hippie Jesus Movement of the early 70s. Artists such as 2nd Chapter of Acts Love Song Barry McGuire , and Larry Norman were making folky pop music about their faith in Jesus Christ Partly due to a separatist attitude, and also due to the fact that finding mainstream radio play would be quite difficult, an entire Christian music industry soon sprang up, with Christian-only artists, record labels, radio stations, and record stores. By the , CCM was a very large and lucrative music industry, with artists such as Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith selling millions of records. Over time, however, many Christian artists opposed the idea of a separate Christian music "ghetto" and began working outside the confines of the Nashville, Tennessee

91. Take The Contemporary Christian Music Test
Dialthe-Truth Ministries (www.av1611.org) - Electronic Informational Tracts.
http://www.av1611.org/crktstin.html
Introduction
We would like to make something very clear. This "test" is for serious Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ. It is NOT for the typical CCM Christian. It is NOT for the Christian, who despite clear Bible verses contrary, despite CCM "lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation(Deut 32:15)"
The Bible is very clear:
1. A Christian should be SEPARATE from the world.

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye SEPARATE , saith the Lord, and touch not the UNCLEAN thing ;. . ." 2 Cor 6:17
"Love not the WORLD , neither the things that are in the WORLD If any man love the WORLD , the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
2. A Christian should be DIFFERENT from the world:
"Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no DIFFERENCE between the holy and profane , neither have they showed DIFFERENCE between the unclean and the clean ,. . . and I am profaned among them." Ezekial 22:26
"If the WORLD hate you , ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the WORLD, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the WORLD hateth you."

The stage of the "Warsaw Autumn" festival became the site of the first Polish performances of works that make up the canon of contemporary music (including Igor Stravinsky's SPRING FESTIVAL ). Warsaw Autumn also become a manifestation of new aesthetic tendencies in Polish music. At first those new tendencies were related to the use of dodecaphonism, and later to the use of a technique called sonorism in Poland which was based on the priority of the tone of sound over all other parameters of a composition.
These aesthetics are represented in Polish music mainly by Witold Lutoslawski (1913-1994) and Krzysztof Penderecki (born 1933) as well as Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki (born 1933) and additionally by Kazimierz Serocki (1922-1981), Tadeusz Baird Wojciech Kilar (born 1932), Witold Szalonek (born 1927), Boguslaw Schaeffer (born 1929), and Wlodzimierz Kotonski (born 1925).

The music of Witold Lutoslawski belongs to the greatest accomplishments of the entire century although a basic and important portion of this music was composed in the latter half of the century, between 1958 -

In early 2004, Kennedy decided that her first project after graduating from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television would be a feature-length documentary. Convinced that there was a need and an audience for joyful documentaries, and inspired by other feel-good documentaries such as "Spellbound," she set forth to film 17 of her closest friends, USC's Reverse Osmosis (RO), as they prepared for and competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), the most prestigious competition in collegiate a cappella.

Germany's Vocal Jazz Summit Does Not Disappoint Contributed by Joakim Skog Saturday, 17 September 2005 MAINZ, GERMANY The Vocal Jazz Summit set out to be the place where the giants met, where artists and personalities from all over the world came together for a five-day long celebration of the genre we all love. It is hard to imagine how a summit with a forecast like that actually would be like, but I know, because I was there.
I won’t let you wait for the punch line: I’ve never experienced so much good music, fun people, nice persons and great afterglows during such a condensed period of time. It was the best of times!
