In simple terms you fill in a Notice of Intent Form (submitted to the local school department) which just commits you to teach the required subjects, however you please, using whatever curriculum you desire. You are required to do a portfolio review in the spring to demonstrate that you have been teaching. That's all. The practice of this system has been pretty fair as well. While some towns have made extra requests in connection with the portfolio review, these are not necessary and need not be honored.

Marriage and family therapists will be required to attend professional development courses to attain 15 CEUs per year. You will receive more information in the CAMFT Newsletter and below. The Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies are amended by adding the following new Sections 20-280-25 to 20-280-27, as follows: (NEW) 20-280-25. Renewal of license and continuing education requirement. (a) A license issued under Chapter 389 of the General Statutes shall be valid for a period of one year from January 1 to December 31. Each certified public accountant and each public accountant who holds such a license shall annually apply for renewal of such license by December 31. As a condition precedent to renewal of such license, each applicant shall complete forty (40) hours of continuing education, complying with these regulations, during the period from July 1 through June 30, immediately preceding each such December 31, and shall report completion of such continuing education as required by these regulations by the July 31 immediately preceding each such December 31.
