Return to Top Finding Books Finding monographic materials (books) owned by the University of North Texas Libraries is accomplished via the Online Catalog . Materials can be searched by author, title, subject, or keywords. Materials placed on Reserve by professors will also be retrieved here. The catalog can be used to find journals and conference proceedings but it does not search individual articles or conference papers (see the next section, , for information on identifying these materials). Electronic access to books is also available. Safari Tech Books Online allows users to browse, read, and download (print and/or email a section at a time) books on a variety of computer subjects ranging from programming languages (including HTML) to databases and security. netLibrary books cover a broader range of topics but includes many with computer science and engineering subjects.

Mr Krol, who said he was inspired by a similar scheme in Sweden, has already filled many of his volunteer slots, and hopes to launch the project next month. Under the scheme, photographs and short biographies of the volunteers will appear in the library, and on its website. Library users who wish to take a person out can apply for an appointment. Mr Krol said he had not cleared the scheme with his municipal bosses. read on @ the Telegraph http://bibliotheke.org/archives/2005/08/30/dutch-library-lends-out-people/feed/
