Research Alliance for Children with Special Needs Enhancing the Participation of Children with Special Needs [Go to Navigation Menu] What is RACSN? The Research Alliance for Children with Special Needs (RACSN), based in London, Ontario, Canada, is a multidisciplinary partnership of community and university faculty researchers from the fields of education, health, mental health, rehabilitation sciences, and social sciences. Originally formed in January 2000 with funding from the Community-University Research Alliance program of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), RACSN was recently awarded a further two years of funding from SSHRC to work towards its mandate of " Enhancing the participation of children with special needs. " RACSN focuses on the child, family, and environmental factors that influence children's participation in community settings of all types and aims to enhance the life experiences of children with special needs. The Alliance is based on an infrastructure model. RACSN provides the necessary structure and organizational support to allow partner groups to pool their energies, skills, and knowledge to provide a concerted and coordinated research, dissemination, and training effort.

Why Do We Perform Educational Research? When I was finishing my undergraduate degree in anthropology thirty years ago, the professor of our cultural anthropology course gave us a provocative assignment for our final paper. We were supposed to ask, and attempt to answer, one of the great, unanswered questions in cultural anthropology. Flirting with youthful cynicism on the one hand, and beginning a genuine search for meaning on the other, I entitled my paper, “One of the great, unanswered questions in cultural anthropology: Why are we doing this?” The details of my answer are long forgotten in the dustbin of essay history, but the gist of it was an attempt to find human significance in the description and analysis of cultures. Looking back, I blush at the naive presumption that I could answer such a question, but the question itself, “why are we doing this?” has recurred, sometimes at a hum and sometimes at a roar, for most of my professional life.

Week 7 Review Form Head of the School Undergraduate Cadet Program The Australian Communications and Media Authority(ACMA) is offering undergraduate cadet program to 3rd and 4th year communications/ software/computer engineering students to work under supervision of engineers on a negotiable part time basis (paid) with the possibility of a text book allowance . The ACMA is responsible for national radiofrequency and broadcasting planning, including the development of engineering technical policy and arrangements for access to the radiofrequency spectrum. ACMA engineers develop channel allotment plans and technical spectrum access rules after performing interference analyses, propagation path loss calculations and other investigations. The ACMA makes detailed recommendations on access arrangements for new radiocommunication and broadcasting services. Over the past years the ACMA has provided paid engineering experience to university students as part of the requirement for engineering students to complete 3 months experience as part of their Bachelor of Engineering degree.

CSI Home People Research Industry Affiliates Welcome to CSI The Communication Sciences Institute (CSI) was formed in 1982 as an organized research unit within the Department of Electrical Engineering. CSI provides an environment for faculty, students, research sponsors, and practicing engineers to interact. The primary goal of CSI is to impact engineering practice through basic research and education. To achieve this goal, we look to our research sponsors and industrial affiliates for the most challenging and relevant problems. These problems are addressed by CSI faculty and student researchers who are among the best in the world. Closely associated with CSI is the communications group within the Electrical Engineering Department. The communications group is made up of faculty who regularly teach classes and supervise research in the communications area. Thus, most CSI faculty are in the communications group.
