  • What is the difference between the PROFILE and FAFSA? Why do I need both? The FAFSA asks for tax information from my parents and me. What should I do if I haven’t filed my tax returns? I consider myself independent. Can I file as an independent student? What should I do if I have special circumstances not indicated in the FAFSA? ... What kind of refund can I expect to receive if I withdraw from Saint Anselm College? What is the difference between the PROFILE and FAFSA? Why do I need both?
The FAFSA is required of every student who wants to be considered for federal student aid and most state funds. It collects information to establish your eligibility for federal and state student aid. PROFILE is a supplemental form required by Saint Anselm College and many other private colleges and universities. It collects additional information to help determine your eligibility for Saint Anselm College funds.
The FAFSA asks for tax information from my parents and me. What should I do if I haven’t filed my tax returns?
You may fill out your FAFSA using estimated tax information. You’ll have the opportunity to correct this information when you receive the processed Student Aid Report (SAR). It’s better to use estimated tax information than risk missing the financial-aid deadline.

HUGHES NEWS: A Historic Graduate College in the Heart of Cambridge
Hughes Hall was founded in 1885, at a time of great progress in many areas of public life. The opening of The Cambridge Training College for women (as it was then known) was part of a concerted effort to broaden education in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Initally, just 14 women were admitted, and the college was housed in a local cottage. In 1895 the building pictured below was opened, and over the next century the college moved from strength to strength in terms of its student body and fellowship. Today, Hughes Hall has approximately 450 graduate and affiliated and mature (aged over 21) students, of both sexes. The college provides a warm and lively social and academic environment for an international community of students and Fellows - all committed to the pursuit and fostering of academic excellence in research, scholarship and teaching. We offer an ideal setting in which to study, enhanced by some of the best graduate accommodation in the University conveniently located in the heart of the city. "But I don't know where to start" Printer-friendly version That's what I hear most often. So here's the scoop.
Think in terms of four basic steps. Step 1
Do you want to go to college? Why? What for? You may never have stopped to think about this, but it's important. It's your life and your college education, so to increase your motivation and your chances for success, you have to begin by being able to provide an answer to these questions. (If you need some ideas to stimulate your thinking, check out the list in "Start Here."
If the answer is "No," OK. But then begin to think about what else you will want to do when you graduate from high school. You have to make some plans, identify some goals.
If the answer is "I'm not sure" or "I don't know," then proceed as if the answer is "Yes" because you don't want to close any doors at this point. Keep your options open.
If the answer is "Yes," then you're at the right place. Let's get started.

Full-time students who wish to graduate in two years must carry more than the 12 hours each semester or plan on attending Spring or Summer Sessions as well. Part-time Student - The term denotes a student who is carrying less than 12 credit hours per semester. Those enrolled for 9 - 11 credit hours per semester (or 5 credit hours during the Spring or Summer Session) are classified as three- quarter time. Six - eight credit hours per semester or 3 - 4 hours per session makes one a "half-time" student.
