The California Polytechnic State University Amateur (Ham) Radio Club (CPARC) has a long tradition of communications service on campus and in the community of San Luis Obispo. The club was founded in 1947, making the Cal Poly Amateur Radio Club the second oldest club on campus.
Our club station, W6BHZ, is equipped with high frequency radio transceivers capable of worldwide communications. The station also acts as a San Luis Obispo County Emergency Communications Center, as it is fully equipped with emergency power and radio equipment to support various public safety agencies in the event of a disaster. The club trains routinely with local agencies in mock-disaster situations, and has provided emergency communications during the Highway 41 Fire, the Loma Prieta earthquake, and other disasters both local and statewide. The club also supports other, non-emergency events such as bicycle races, triathlons, and parades. Club radio operators maintain communications both for event logistics and medical emergencies.
The club maintains a repeater system to extend the range of handheld radios for club members and other licensed amateur radio operators in the San Luis Obispo area. The club is also working on a radio system which will link to other radio systems throughout the state as a part of the Western Amateur Linking Association (

Our winter (indoor) practices started in January at Nummenkoulu (Nummi school, near Ylioppilaskylä). New members are always welcome, whether experienced players or beginners. Email us at turkucc@luukku.com or at one of the individual addresses above, and we'll give you more information. Typically we have about a dozen 40-over weekend fixtures every summer, plus the annual Helsinki Sixes Tournament and possible tour matches abroad. There are currently five full cricket teams in Finland (Helsinki CC, Vantaa CC, Stadi CC, Turku CC and Tampere CC) with new teams expected to join the SM Liiga soon. Last season's 6-a-side tournament also involved the Estonian national team, on tour in Finland. Our current team includes players from Finland, Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Iran, India and England. Last season one player from Turku played for the Finnish national side in matches in Austria (Five Nations Tournament) and in Helsinki. National team fixtures for summer 2001 include an 8-team International tournament, again in Austria.

Information for Predental Students
Planning your predental curriculum
There are approximately 56 dental schools in the United States, and students typically apply to about eight schools. It is important that students plan their coursework to satisfy prerequisites for many dental schools. Fortunately, this is not difficult to do. The plan below identifies the science coursework that will satisfy the requirements for application to nearly all 56 U.S. dental schools. It is a serious mistake for a student to look at the prerequisite coursework for any one dental school and develop their academic plan based upon that one school. Please note that most dental schools do not accept AP credit in place of required prerequisite coursework.

In 1972 I joined the Belgian icehockey Federation (K.B.IJ.F). I started refereeing in 1977 and are still doing the job today.
My total of lead games is now 1.145. I am very proud of it.
My best games I had refereed was in Spain (W.K. seniors pool C) and in United Kingdom (national senior team U.K. vs. U.S.S.R).
In Belgium we have several teams. If you want more details, send a email.

The Graduate Program in Philosophy
General Information
The Susan Linn Sage School of Philosophy was founded at Cornell in 1891 with an endowment given by Henry W. Sage. Cornell is an unusually diverse university of about eighteen thousand students. There are about four thousand undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and about forty-five hundred students in the Graduate School. Ithaca is a city of about thirty thousand people (including students), situated amid great natural beauty at the southern end of Lake Cayuga, one of the largest of New York's Finger Lakes.
Program Requirements
Students come to graduate study in philosophy with varying aims, and the Sage School tries to respond as flexibly as possible, in keeping with the rules of the Graduate School and the need to acquire broad competence in philosophy. The Graduate School requires six residence units (six semesters of full-time study) for the Ph.D. Most of our Ph.D.s earn at least eight residence units. The maximum credit that can be given for graduate work done elsewhere is two residence units. What credit, if any, will be given for such work is determined by a recommendation from the student's Special Committee, made after the student has completed at least a term's graduate work at Cornell. The Sage School requires twelve graduate courses, usually taken in the first four terms here. The guidelines to be followed in planning the student's program are outlined below. After course work is completed, the student concentrates on the doctoral dissertation.
