Clinton went to school in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Hot Springs High School and then Georgetown University with a degree in international affairs. After two years in England on a Rhodes Scholarship, he received a law degree at Yale University. His Presidency: During his first term, Clinton's efforts centered around the economy, health care reform and trade agreements with Mexico and Canada. But foreign affairs often took center stage, as civil war rocked eastern Europe and American troops were dispatched to help keep the peace. During his second term in office, enormous growth in Internet technology and the economy led to a projected budget surplus that failed to materialize due to failures of the internet tech stocks. Clinton was the only president to be impeached for moral misconduct and lying under oath.

in full WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, original name WILLIAM JEFFERSON BLYTHE III, byname BILL CLINTON (b. Aug. 19, 1946, Hope, Ark., U.S.), American politician who became the 42nd president of the United States in 1993. He was elected to a second term in 1996. Bill Clinton's father, William Jefferson Blythe II, died in an automobile accident before his son was born. Blythe's widow married Roger Clinton, and Bill eventually took the latter's name. Bill Clinton graduated from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.) in 1968 with a degree in international affairs and then attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes scholar for two years. He graduated from the Yale University Law School in 1973 and joined the faculty of the University of Arkansas School of Law that same year. Clinton directed the presidential campaign of Democratic candidate George McGovern (1972) in Texas and that of Jimmy Carter (1976) in his home state, and in 1974 he ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was elected attorney general of Arkansas in 1976, and in 1978 he was elected governor, becoming at age 32 the youngest governor the nation had seen in 40 years. After an eventful two-year term as governor, Clinton failed in his reelection bid in 1980 but regained the governor's office in 1982, after which he was successively reelected three more times by substantial margins. A pragmatic Democrat, he reformed Arkansas' neglected educational system and encouraged the growth of industry in his state through favourable tax policies.

BILL CLINTON U.S. President Name at birth: William Jefferson Blythe Bill Clinton spent the 1970s as a law professor and then Attorney General of Arkansas, and most of the 1980s as Governor of Arkansas. A moderate Democrat, in 1992 he defeated the incumbent George Bush for the U.S. presidency. His first term was characterized by a strong economic recovery, and in 1996 he was re-elected. His second term was dominated by scandal: accusations of corruption and investigations into rumors of his marital infidelity. On December 19, 1998 the U.S. House of Representatives voted (along party lines) in favor of two articles of impeachment. Clinton was accused of committing perjury and obstruction of justice in his attempt to cover up an extra-marital affair with a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky . In the subsequent senate trial, Clinton was acquitted of the charges and remained in office. Days before leaving office, Clinton struck a deal with the office of the special prosecutor in the case: in order to avoid an indictment, Clinton admitted to making misleading testimony, and he was suspended from practicing law in Arkansas for five years. In 2000 his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected as a U.S. Senator from New York, the first time a First Lady had ever been elected to public office.

( Bill Clinton ) “You know the one thing that is wrong in this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say.” President Bill Clinton In 1603, speaking before Parliament, even King James I recognized that a ruler's authority has limits: "A king ceases to be a king, and degenerates into a tyrant, as soon as he leaves off to rule according to his laws." (King James I, quoted by John Wingate Thornton, The Pulpit of the American Revolution - Political Sermons of the Period of 1776 (New York: Da Capo Press, 1970) p.74 From the general to the specific , every tortured tumbrel tread of the "Clinton Revolution" sounds like a loathsome scripted theme from the ongoing cacophony of terror and destruction unleashed in 1789. With fluid ease "Slick Willie" flits from one Jacobin guise to another: As Robespierre, he proclaims his love for "the people," while simultaneously devising the most hideous plans for depopulation; as Anacharsis Clootz he exults in the "sublime religion of Nature" and preaches the gospel of "internationalism"; and as the Marquis de Sade, he institutionalizes perversion and scandalously indulges his own libidinal excesses.

Ljubljana Life Interview:
U.S. President Bill Clinton: June 14, 1999
by fred michael liss and william g. wagner Ljubljana Life's exclusive interview with US President Bill Clinton was a collaborative effort between the publisher William Wagner and editor Fred Liss. The visit by President Clinton to Slovenia on June 21st and 22nd was an extraordinary event by any measure. It was the first visit by an American president to the young republic, an event which generated an unprecedented level of media attention in this small nation of just 2 million people. Here is what the President had to say about the nature of his trip in his own words, including his views on the situation in Kosovo and the important role that Slovenia plays in helping to promote regional peace and stability. 1. Mr. President, what is the nature of your trip to Slovenia? I will have the honor of being the first American President to set foot in independent Slovenia. Your President and Prime Minister have visited the United States. I want to reciprocate their visits to demonstrate my commitment to our continued partnership and friendship. We have witnessed a steady deepening and strengthening of the ties between our two nations since Slovenian independence in 1991. I believe that U.S.-Slovenian relations will continue to develop progressively in the years ahead and that my visit will contribute to that.
