The Big Chill

Kirk. A. Maasch.
Introduction
There is no single accepted cause of climatic change, at whatever timescale is chosen.  For any theory proposed, there is an argument contrary to the idea.  A number of theories carry a lot of support and seem to have the weight of evidence behind them, but no single theory seems to be able to explain the increasingly well known phenomena associated with climate change. The lecture will outline and consider the main theories of climatic change that carry the greatest support in contemporary science, but that does not mean that the theories are correct, nor uncontested.

The Clark University Map Library Web Site is down for technical repairs (3/7/03) but here is a list of Geography and GIS Internet reference sources compiled by Map Librarian Beverly Presley.
The question we most frequently hear in the Map Library from Clark students is, "Where can I find the data?" In an attempt to help answer to this often repeated question, we have constructed this section of our home page. Scores of web sites have been evaluated for their usefulness in providing digital geospatial data, especially online digital geospatial data. The following list in no way purports to be an exhaustive treatment of the subject but should be thought of as a place to begin a search. With the exception of Massachusetts, we have not attempted to include the often exceptional and certainly prolific number of sites that include maps. The very thorough Roelof Oddens , Map Curator at the University of Utrecht, is doing a fine job of that task. We are, however, bookmarking them on the Map Library's computers as we encounter them and will be featuring new or interesting map sites on our Selected Acquisitions List. Diacritical marks have been included when possible and every effort has been made to honor the spelling choices made by the authors of the following sites. On occasion, a site may be included in more than one category if it seemed that it would be helpful to our patrons.
