A new finding hints that blood circulation problems may be an underlying cause of the mysterious illness. Nobody is sure what causes chronic fatigue syndrome. As more becomes known, it's likely that some chronic fatigue patients will turn out to have different underlying problems than others. One major symptom, however, is feeling bad after exercise for more than 24 hours.

I wish to personally welcome you to this web site. It has been created, with love, for you. When we first get diagnosed (or wonder if we should be diagnosed), I know too well how difficult it is to find information about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (aka CFIDS, M.E.), Lyme, and/or Fibromyalgia Syndrome. There are a myriad of sites that bring you the basics, and I try to present you those basics as well as information slightly beyond. At the moment, there is no cause nor cure. There are no magic bullets. This disease is so complex, no one drug will work. This is not a disease of just your muscles, your immune system, your sleep dysfunction, your hormones, your nutritional deficiencies, your NMH, or your gut; it is a cluster of symptoms that involve every system of your body. Treating it, therefore, involves testing and treating those deficiencies. The controversies surrounding that and the differences in our health contribute to our stress. My new job is to help us sort that all out. Hugs, Marilyn K

New Jersey Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia Center
At the forefront of CFS/FM research and treatment since its establishment in 1989, the New Jersey CFS/FM Center is located at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ and the East Orange VA Medical Center. Patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia often present with similar symptoms. A CFS patient primarily complains of fatigue, while pain is the major concern of the patient suffering from FM. Often, both fatigue and pain are present in these conditions. The New Jersey CFS/FM Center is composed of two branches Research and Private Care . To become involved please fill out our health screen information. HOW TO GET INVOLVED Goals
  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of persons with CFS and FM through a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Perform research to find the underlying causes of CFS and FM and effective treatments of the debilitating symptoms associated with these illnesses.
  • Educate patients, families, health care professionals, and the general public about research, treatment practices, and coping techniques.

and Life Planner Workbook
"Healing Resources For Patients, Family and Friends"
The book provides extensive resources for learning how to accept and understand these chronic illnesses, paves the way to access information easily, to give some sanity to the madness, and to educate family and friends on every aspect of these syndromes. "A comparative analysis in the Journal of Rheumatology found that the quality of life for women with FM is worse than for those who have Rheumatoid Arthritis." Fibromyalgia, unlike well known and understood diseases like cancer, springboards a journey for education, understanding and compassion. Written by a fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue patient, the book provides unlimited resources for patients and family to understand, learn, cope and find support through their walk in accepting and surviving these invisible illnesses. The Life Planner, is a workbook that maps out a step-by-step plan for adapting and coping with the lifestyle changes fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue patients must face.
The book provides extensive resources for: Patients, family and friends, to understand what these syndromes are, where the resources are that will carry you through the journey toward emotional healing, and where our hope is for finding a cure. The Book is divided into four sections:

The point being that ME is a Neurological disorder and should be treated as such. The belittling term chronic fatigue syndrome arrived courtesy of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), primarily for the purpose of enabling further research; that was the

You probably know that taking drugs to suppress your symptoms is a dead-end road.
The questions you have to ask yourself are these: Have I been suffering long enough? Have I 'learned' what I needed to learn from illness?
If you're 'fed-up' with taking drugs that only mask the symptoms of your problem? If so, you're in the right place
At our clinic, we understand one thing: how to get sick people well. And we've had success with many different conditions, from all over the United States and Canada.
Through a comprehensive method of body balancing, health can be restored. We don't "treat disease" at our clinic. Instead, we cleanse, nourish and balance the body, and the power that created the body can then heal the body.
Taking a look at any of the presentations below is a good way to begin your journey to getting well again. If you have problems getting any presentation to display, click here How to Get Well!

160. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome And The Alexander Technique
How this centuryold method of releasing harmful stress may be of benefit to a patient with this disease.
http://www.alexandertechnique.com/articles/chronicfatigue
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the Alexander Technique by Martin Finnegan What exactly is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?* Sometimes referred to as ME or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, it is a term that describes a chronic, debilitating disorder that affects the immune and central nervous system. Typical of its symptoms are a profound fatigue, totally out of proportion to a person's physical activity and independent of mood, plus a range of other symptoms that can affect any organ of the body. The causes of CFS are unknown. Indeed there appear to be any number of apparent causes and in many cases the onset seems to be linked to a stress to the immune system such as an acute infection, especially viral in nature. After the stress or virus has run its course the symptoms do not abate as you would expect but set in, becoming chronic and are often associated with profound fatigue and feelings of general malaise. Western medicine advocates rest, counseling, adjusting lifestyle and support as the best approach to treating CFS and this is all good advice. The problem, it seems to me is one of perception. The orthodox point of view perceives CFS as a thing. It is my opinion that CFS is not a thing at all, which is the reason that no cause and no diagnosis can be found. It is a process. A process of a human system running down, in a variety of ways, to such a point that it can't function properly anymore. In my own experience of CFS, it was exactly that and the solution was not to attempt to 'fix' a part of my body but to address the whole of 'me' and my life, in all its various aspects - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. And the new model that I followed worked.
