Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
Introduction
By its nature, the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology is focused to a significant degree on internationalization, in terms of research, education (both university and public) and, of course, in its collections. In terms of the research of its faculty curators there is some overlap in international activities with the School of Arts and Sciences, but beyond that the Museum itself supports a number of activities.
Research
Since its founding in 1887, the Museum has conducted more than 350 anthropological and archaeological expeditions on every inhabited continent. Currently, over 50 Museum curators and staff are engaged in field research and analysis in countries around the world, including Australia, Bolivia, Egypt, France, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Mongolia, Sumatra, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and the United States. More details about Museum research projects that are currently being undertaken in the field or are in analyses/write-up phases can be found at http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/research/

Current events in Chinatown Chinatown sounds like it would be the place where most Vancouver residents of Chinese descent live. That is certainly not true today, but it was in the 1880s when the swampy fringe of False Creek around the intersection of Carrall and Pender Streets became known as Chinatown. Chinatown is one of the city's earliest commercial and residential districts, containing a remarkable collection of buildings from Vancouver's boom years at the turn of the last century. This tour will introduce you to the architecture and history of the neighbourhood. Chinatown hosts four main annual community events. There are many other performances, demonstrations, parades and festivals throughout the year. Bookmark this page and check it frequently for current dates and times.
