Chinese Education System after 1949
Education, one of the fundamental Chinese traditions entered to a new era of deep transformation with arouses of new P.R.C. As a vital tool of centralization and unification, it faces, however, several fundamental technical problems. The stake of the issue: It will not affects only the future development of young P.R.C, but also questions the legitimacy of communist dictatorship and its avocation as whole.
The creation of a new education system
  • Funding
In order to expand the school with the conception of schooling for all, from children of kindergarten to alienate peasants, teachers and wherewithal are needed.
  • Six years of primary school. Three years of junior middle school, three years of senior middle school. Six years of university. Varieties of technical and vocation schools are invented. What of the tradition to preserve? How to replace the former with a largely unknown ideal called communism? New text book with a heavy soviet influence, which is not adaptable for Chinese. Popularization of putonhua and introduction of simplified characters.

Agu, 1996 Bronze urns dug from the Victorian goldfields, a queue ("pigtail") cut off its wearer last century, and the debutante balls of the Young Chinese League from the 1930's evoke some of the richness of the Chinese contribution to Australia's history. A living part of Melbourne's modern Chinatown, the Chinese Museum was brought into being in 1985 to document, preserve and display the history of Australians of Chinese descent. An exiting range of changing exhibitions, audiovisual presentations, heritage tours and public seminars are some of the ways by which Australia's Chinese community shares its past, its culture, and its values with wide society, through the Museum.

    History drives Chinese sales
By Souren Melikian International Herald Tribune SATURDAY, JULY 23, 2005 LONDON The massive entry of citizens from the People's Republic of China into the Chinese art market has become a common topic in the media. The focus is nearly always on the financial consequences or the nationalism that supposedly drives the new players. Whether the Chinese are any more nationalist in buying their own art than the British when buying Wedgwood porcelain or Georgian furniture is a moot question. What truly underlies Chinese acquisitions is a renewed awareness of history that the Maoist Cultural Revolution tried to wipe out and a new eagerness to reconnect with the cultural tokens of the past. This eagerness, common to all Chinese communities, has radically changed the makeup of Chinese art auctions in the West, now largely determined by Chinese preferences. Three decades ago the big lots were so-called "archaic" bronzes from Chinese Antiquity, Tang pottery, Song porcelain, early Ming blue and white porcelain and, occasionally, some important Buddhist sculpture.

History of Chinese Cooking
China is a country where the preparation and appreciation of food has been developed to the highest level. Chinese culture considers cooking an art. All other philosophies consider the preparation of food a craft. The art of Chinese cooking has been developed and refined over many centuries. Emperor Fu taught people to fish, hunt, grow crops and cook twenty centuries before Christ. However cooking could not be considered an art until the great classical age of China, the Chou Dynasty 1122-249 B.C. The two dominant philosophies of the Chinese culture are Confucianism and Taoism. Each influenced the course of Chinese history and the development of the culinary arts. Confucianism concerned itself with the art of cooking and placed great emphasis on the enjoyment of life. To the Chinese, food and friends are inseparable. A gathering without food is considered incomplete and improper.

94. EastSouthWestNorth: The Falsification Of History In China
Yet, all this vanished in the history made up by the chinese Communists. In the contemporary history textbooks used in chinese secondary schools,
http://www.zonaeuropa.com/20050413_1.htm
The Falsification of History in China In two past posts, The Roots of Anti-Japanese Feelings in China and Japanese History Textbooks (2005 edition) , the subject was about how Japanese history textbooks portray the Sino-Japanese relationship over time. The Japanese are allegedly attempting to falsify their own history! Generally, when the subject of the falsification of history comes up, one must inevitably name the Chinese Communist government amongst the world leaders. This post will contain an honest look by an eminent Chinese writer on the subject. Still, I wish to state that I see this not as an exculpating factor for whatever is going on with the Japanese history textbooks. I don't accept an argument such as, "Since the Chinese are much worse at falsifying history, the Japanese are entitled to do it too." That is really setting the bar very low. Next, you will also accept, "Since Genghis Khan's Mongols (who are one of the five major ethnic groups of China) killed one million people at Baghdad, the Japanese are entitled to do whatever they did during the Nanjing 'incident'." And this is a long and slippery slope to slide down. In the end, this cannot resolve the dilemma with respect to Chinese citizens as stated in the previous post: Should the Chinese react vociferously about the downgrade of the Nanjing massacre to the Nanjing incident, and the total disappearing of Unit 731 and "comfort women"? Or should they just "get over it" and have the Japanese tell them to be thankful for the war that was waged to "liberate the Asian countries from the western imperialists"?
