  • Children's museum. Open Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm; Saturday 1pm-5pm. Closed all major holidays. Handicapped accessible. Admission $5.00; under 3 years admitted free. Reservations required. for groups of ten or more. Group admission $4.00. CHOM provides high quality, interactive, entertaining exhibits and programs designed to stimulate the curiosity of children ages 2-12. It involves parents, teachers, and others in participatory education. Permanent exhibits include: a Choctaw Indian Village; a 19th century historical gallery with a bank, a general store, a print shop, a planetarium, a drug store and an attic for dress-up; a children's hospital; a television studio; a towboat; the Citizenship Center which serves as a changing arena for children to address current issues; Images, an area to explore light and color; and Beavers' Bend, a riverside environment for young children; and the Japan House, an authentic replica of a traditional Japanese home. Special programs include educational programming and temporary and traveling exhibits.

Jobs/Volunteer s Partnerships The Discovery Museums , located in Acton, Massachusetts, just west of Boston, are two separate but complementary museums filled with exciting, interactive exhibits for children of all ages using focused spaces and hands-on activities inviting exploration and discovery. At lunch or snack time you can visit one of the many area restaurants or, weather permitting, you can take advantage of our outdoor picnic tables. The Children's Discovery Museum and the Science Discovery Museum are both OPEN on summer hours! Before your visit, please check Hours or call 978.264.4200 to confirm information presented here.
Since our annual Spruce-up starts after Labor Day, please check hours before you visit. The Children's Discovery Museum The Science Discovery Museum A wonder-filled 120 year old Victorian house with rooms, corridors, and closets creatively transformed into ten hands-on exhibit areas especially for toddlers and pre-school children and their families. Because of the small spaces in the building, we suggest that you use back pack carriers or Snuglis® in place of strollers. A creative and challenging interactive experience designed especially for school aged children, filled with innovative theme spaces for hands-on experimenting with the basic sciences and math. All spaces in the building are handicapped accessible. There is also an elevator for your convenience.
