Category: Book Store Book Title: Hazmat Chemistry Study Guide Price: The Hazmat Chemistry Study Guide Book is In Stock Hazmat Chemistry Study Guide Book by Jill Meryl Levy A stand-alone book written to help students going through Hazmat Technician training to better understand basic hazmat chemistry and prepare for the final exam. This study guide reviews information covered in many hazmat chemistry classes nationwide. Much of the information is streamlined and simplified to facilitate comprehension. Each concept is covered in an average of two to three pages, then is followed by a series of mostly multiple-choice review questions. The review questions in this study guide are similar to what students can expect to see on their final exams. Students who can easily answer these questions should do well on the final exam in class.Unlike many study guides, this book does not accompany another text. 164 pages.

Free University Project Natural Sciences Partial Update: Nov. 3, 2003 Exam type:
CLEP:
120 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes.
Typical credits: 6 units
The CLEP Exam
The CLEP General Exam in Natural Sciences is one of five General Examinations. It is very broad in scope, divided into two major parts Biological Sciences and Physiocal Sciences. It is similar to a one year survey course taught at many colleges. It can be a real challenge as you have to answer 120 questions in 90 minutes. It tests not only facts but also understanding. NOTE: There is no online course that appears to relate directly to this exam. I have drawn from several courses and exhibits that seem to reflect the content required on the CLEP. Featured faculty and their home pages can be found at the end of this page.
(I didn't promise you a rose garden. See The topics in bold face are those The College Board indicates will be found on the exams. The percentages given after the main topic headings are only approximate. Always contact The College Board for the latest information. (Click on test descriptions.)

The American Chemical Society (ACS) Exam in General Chemistry is a standardized exam given to students across the nation. You can obtain a study guide for this exam from the Chemistry Office in MSB 203. For Spring 2004, you may also try to buy back a used copy of the ACS Study Guide at a lower cost from a student who had the book in a prior semester. The list of students having used ACS Study Guides from Fall 2003 has been posted on my office door as of January 21, 2004. You are responsible for contacting a student to buy a used ACS Study Guide. INTERNET RESOURCES IN CHEMISTRY
With the explosive growth of the world wide net we are rapidly moving into a true information age. Anyone without the requisite skills to access this information will be quickly left behind. If you have not yet done so, you should seriously consider buying a computer and modem. You should have a reasonably fast processor (at least a 486 for PC's and a 68040 for Mac's, although a Pentium or PowerMac is much better) and at least a 28.8 modem. These days a new computer capable of handling the internet can be had for $1,000, and a good used computer for about half that. Think of it as an investment in your future. There is presently a vast amount of chemical information available over the net. I will provide links to some of this information. While much of this can be accessed directly by your web browser, much of the information requires specific browser

It will also provide some tips on how to search for information in the library catalog and in other databases using subject headings, and how to use the Library of Congress classification to browse for materials. The section on "Reference Sources" will give you information about some of the primary reference sources in this subject area, such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other similar tools. This includes, where available, full-text eBooks through netLibrary™, which are marked with the symbol . Following this you will find a section which lists and describes the electronic databases to which PCC subscribes that are relevant to this subject area. And finally there is a section that provides information on useful web sites. You may wish to print this guide and use it in the library.
