Ristow stated that there were five professional courses for map curators available in the U.S.A. and in Canada: at the University of Illinois Library School; the faculty of Library Science at the University of Toronto; the School of Library Service at Columbia University; the School of Librarianship in conjunction with the Department of Geography at Western Michigan University; and the Catholic University's Graduate Department of Library Science, Washington, D.C.
