"Unfortunately, some classifieds mislead job hunters about the availability of jobs. There are two things for job hunters to remember: information about government jobs is always free and guarantees of government jobs are always false." "The U.S. Postal Service will continue to work closely with the FTC in a joint effort to stamp out fraudulent claims by individuals and companies regarding postal employment and postal exam Test 470," said Mary Anne Gibbons, Vice President and General Counsel of the U.S. Postal Service. In four cases see attached list the FTC obtained temporary or preliminary restraining orders that froze all of the assets of the defendants and appointed receivers over the corporate defendants. In the fifth case, the FTC settled the matter and filed a stipulated final federal court order that permanently bans the defendants from selling business opportunities and mass marketing employment related goods or services. Federal Jobs-How to Find Them and Apply Online
Thanks to the Internet, if you're interested in Federal employment, the job descriptions are right at your fingertips. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the Federal government's human resources manager, uses the Web to provide information on jobs available worldwide. You can search for a job according to your education, where you live, the agencies you're interested in, and more.
Scams
You've seen the ads-"Just $19.95 to get the inside scoop on how to get a Federal or Postal Service job." Many of those ads use names that sound like those of Federal agencies or Postal Service offices, like "U.S. Agency for Career Advancement" or the "Postal Employment Service." When you see these ads, read them carefully. Fraudulent companies may lie about the availability of Federal jobs in your area or guarantee you a high score on postal entrance examinations. Federal agencies never charge application fees or guarantee that an applicant will be hired.

About the Foreign Service Q. What is the entry-level salary for a Foreign Service Officer? A. The entry-level salary for Foreign Service Officers ranges from the mid-thirty to the high-sixty thousand dollar range, depending on education level and prior work experience. Junior officers generally serve their first two tours overseas, for a total of four years, and can benefit from overseas allowances, including housing and financial incentives (e.g., hardship differential), which make for an attractive overall compensation package. For the complete list of benefits click here Q. Are there employment opportunities for spouses overseas? A. Yes. Employment opportunities for spouses vary by country of assignment. The Department's Family Liaison Office maintains a listing of job opportunities at most posts and may be contacted directly once an assignment is known. The Department also has a growing number of "tandem couples" in which both spouses work for a foreign affairs agency of the U.S. government. Q. Will my family get to travel and live overseas with me?
