The pace of direct entry singing events continues to grow with Helmets to Hardhats. Within the last couple of months New Hampshire, Vermont, Virginia and Missouri have all had direct entry signing events.
Governors of the states and the Lieutenant Governor from Virginia, joined retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Matthew P. Caulfield, executive director of the national Helmets to Hardhats program, in signing resolutions supporting the program's efforts to link former and active military personnel with civilian employment opportunities.
The implementation of a statewide direct entry program, gives former and active military personnel the opportunity to quickly start quality construction careers soon after they apply for them through Helmets to Hardhats. Once the state proclamation is signed, it allows all BCTD JATCs and locals (at their discretion) to immediately accept these men and women into their apprenticeship programs and provide them with credit for their military training and experience.
A total of thirteen states have implemented direct entry for Helmets to Hardhats candidates. These states include Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut, West Virginia, Illinois, Washington, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Iowa, New Hampshire, Vermont, Virginia and Missouri.

The Military Police (MP) is a great place to start if you are interested in a career with a civilian police department. Many top state, metropolitan, municipal and park police personnel acquired their original training and discipline from military service.
