The opportunities encompass a variety of skill sets and personalities, ranging from investment analyst positions, requiring strong quantitative skills and the desire to work independently, to corporate management positions, calling for strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. In the area of finance there truly is "something for everyone." Banking and Financial Institutions Banking (commercial banks, savings and loans, international banks, central banks like the Federal Reserve Bank) provides many opportunities for finance professionals to assist individuals and businesses in reaching their financial goals and obtaining funding for a variety of investments, purchases, and operating needs. As financial institutions grow and become "one stop shops," new opportunities have emerged in the credit card business as well as in investment banking, which is the issuance of new debt and equity securities.
