    Fact Sheet #6
    Gardening with Native Plants:
    General Introduction
Go for Green - The Active Living and Environment Program, encourages outdoor physical activity that protects, enhances or restores the environment. When we Go for Green, we improve our own health, through active living and the health of the planet, by being good environmental citizens. Gardening is active living. Is it the second most popular physical activity in Canada, it offers the opportunity for lifelong participation, and can be a positive contributor to the natural environment. One of the most positive gardening trends over the last few yearsalong with the growing commitment of gardeners to organic practiceshas been the increased interest in native plant gardening. People across Canada are looking to the natural landscapes of woodlands, meadows, prairies and wetlands for inspiration in their gardens, recreating back and front yard habitats that are based on models found in nature. The environmental reasons for gardening with native plants are positive and compelling. Native plant gardens:

Canada is the second largest country in the world with close to 10 Million km . Population in Canada is just over 30 Million. Canada's capital is Ottawa , but the largest city in Canada is Toronto (ON, Canada), following by Montréal (QC, Canada) and then Vancouver (BC, Canada). Other major cities in Canada are: Victoria (BC, Canada), Edmonton (AB, Canada), Calgary (AB, Canada) and Winnipeg (MB, Canada). The Largest province in Canada is Quebec. However the largest population is in Ontario with capital city of Toronto whose population is almost half of the population in Ontario. Visit other Canadian cities as well: London Burnaby Red Deer Mississauga ... Regina and Yellowknife in NorthWest Teritories , or see a list off all canadian cities or canadian cities with duplicate names
Population in Canada like in other countries is tightly bound with population growth rate. Canada's natural growth rate is 0.4% (percent), but Canada's overall growth rate is 1.0%, due to Canada's immigration policies. It has been approximated that by 2070, Canada's population will double from 30 million to 60 million people in Canada.
Canada is well known for its stunning natural beauty and Canadian hockey , but is also famous for its cosmopolitan multicultural cities and high quality of life. Don't forget
