The extensive mobility of CF personnel, which often interrupts studies and increases the difficulty of satisfying the 'residency' requirement for graduation, is taken into account by this program. Degree credit is given for a wide range of military training and service, and academic counselling services are provided by program Student Advisors.

CBC is currently experiencing a labour disruption. INDEPTH: CANADA'S MILITARY
Canadian Forces in the 21st century
Defence Minister Bill Graham said the new command will also improve co-ordination between the military and Canada's security and border control agencies, while reinforcing the country's commitments under the North American Aerospace Defence Command.
He said the announcement was the first step in a larger plan to revamp Canada's military, a force that has been criticized by the U.S. and other NATO allies as underfunded.
In the 2005 budget, the Liberal government promised a nearly $13-billion boost in military spending for the next five years. The Conservatives have promised even greater military spending if they should form a government, and even the dovish NDP has backed increased spending on the Forces.
By most accounts, Canada's military is stretched too thin. A Senate committee recommended on Nov. 12, 2002 that Canada should call all its soldiers home for two years and immediately give $4 billion to the military in order to start the process of bringing the military up to what is expected of a world leader.

Report by LH Fincher, Voice of America Pakistani Support for Afghan Taliban: The Role of Islamist Militants in the Pakistani Army and its Intelligence Agency Excerpts of report by Human Rights Watch, a non-governmental agency
In April and May 2001, researchers at Human Rights Watch (HRW) reported that as many as thirty trucks a day were crossing the Pakistani- Afghan border. Sources inside Afghanistan reported that some of these convoys were carrying artillery and tank shells, as well as rocket - propelled grenades. Such deliveries were in direct violation of UN sanctions. Read article excerpted from the HRW Report Proposed Force Structure and Procurement Priorities The 'operational transformation' of the Canadian Forces [CF] will focus on the establishment of new 'joint organizations' and 'combat structures' that can meet the Government's expectations for 'effectiveness, relevance and responsiveness'.

      Walter Block on Canada's Military
Laurence Vance I highly recommend that everyone watch or listen to the wonderful series of lectures being given right now at the Mises Institute by Walter Block. I had the pleasure of attending the lectures on Monday. Although Dr. Block was not talking about war, he made a joke about Canada's military that I thought was profound. He said something to the effect that Canada has three rowboats for a navy and a police car for an army. I think it is interesting that Canada is not threatened by "rogue states" and that Canadians are not hated the world over. Could it be because they don't send troops all over the world like the United States? Has anyone in Washington (besides Ron Paul) ever considered this? This database was compiled by Bruce Towers of Prospect, Connecticut from "The Maine Adjutant General's Report of December, 1863".
It is comprised of all the Canadians he could find by manually sifting through its 1000 pages. Hopefully, this listing will help some Maritime researcher discover why their relative "dissappeared" in the years 1861 - 1865. We have converted the database to HTML as it is not long, and will present it here with Bruce's permission. Thank you Bruce! The page is wide, and you will have to scroll the page to see the right hand columns.
