Canadian Digital Cultural Content Initiative
May 2001 The Department of Canadian Heritage's Canadian Digital Cultural Content Initiative (CDCCI) is designed to enable the production of Canadian cultural content in both official languages. The program promotes a significant, identifiable Canadian presence on the Internet that reflects Canada's cultural diversity. Fifty percent of CDCCI funds target the development of French language content. The CDCCI places a priority on projects with a youth focus and on collaborative projects that include public and private partnerships. The CDCCI has three elements: Canadian Legacies, New Media Assistance, and the Gateway to Canadian Cultural Content Online. The Canadian Legacies component is designed to connect Canadians with the riches of Canada's heritage on-line. Canadian Legacies has a Partnerships Fund component. The Partnerships Fund component encourages the development of digital cultural content in collaboration with community, institutional and organizational networks across Canada. The primary objective of the Partnerships Fund is to connect all Canadians, particularly youth and life-long learners with the riches of Canada's heritage by making Canadian cultural collections held by provincial, municipal and local cultural organizations available online in both official languages. Funding is available to Canadian not-for-profit institutions, organizations, associations or consortiums that are active in the cultural heritage sector at the national, provincial / territorial, municipal or community level. The Partnerships Fund will be of interest to Ontario public and First Nations libraries considering digitizing their heritage collections.

The Dutch and the Canadians are bonded, there is absolutely no doubts about that. Canada has always attracted numerous Dutch folks seeking another, maybe even better, life, a new future, new challenges. The other way around, Holland has always attracted Canadians because of Dutch ancestors or other historical bonds with the dutch culture, heritage and people. Many times a sporadic visit back and forth over the big pond, has led to a strong bond and friendship between Canadians and Dutch people and/or permanent settlement in The Netherlands or Canada. Canada has played a very crucial role in dutch history and the Dutch are an important part of canadian history. This site is about the bond, the connection between the Dutch and Canadian peoples, dutch immigration to Canada and canadian immigration to Holland. We give information about both countries, their inhabitants, Dutch and Canadian culture, peculiarities and history. We provide a spot on the web where Dutch and Canadian folks can get and keep in touch, a meeting point for Dutch and Canadians to strengthen or maybe even renew ties. We hope that Dutch, Canadians, and everyone else who has a special spot for Canada and Holland in their hearts will enjoy what they find here. Use the links on the left to browse around.
