Russlynn Ali: We're an organization that works on the policy, advocacy and school level to raise achievement levels for all students and specifically to close achievement gaps that separate students of color and low-income students from other students. The Education Trust West was created last year because we knew that to facilitate the kind of school reform needed in California, the agenda really needed to be homegrown-by Californians and for Californians. IQ: What do you think makes Education Trust West effective?
