The Internet History Sourcebooks are collections of public domain and copy-permitted historical texts presented cleanly (without advertising or excessive layout) for educational use. Feedback and Help While I encourage notes, comments and feedback in general, I am unable to reply to all of them. I am especially not able to reply to students (or students' parents!) seeking help with homework. For guidance on homework , research, how people lived/ate/dressed in the past, see the various Help! pages: I am unable to help locate details about your family, or give translations of your name or nickname into Chinese (a very common request)! If you find bad links , or typographical errors , please do notify me by telling me the URL (web address) of the specific page with the fault, and (in the case of bad links) the URL of the bad link.

Fri Sep 22 2000 22:39:07 help. i`m doing a project on these times and need to know if there were any black people living in england in this period. thanx. Caro Wed Sep 27 2000 21:50:03 Hi Jeri
I'd suggest researching Bristol, as this was the centre of slave imports in Britain. As I understand it there were some black people in Tudor England (later rather than earlier) although very few, and I can't think of any specific sources to refer you to :-(
Hope this is of some help anyway

Primary and secondary curricula often include the study of the Middle Ages, either generally or specifically within literature or European history studies. But knowing where to find the best or most useful web resources on the topic can be daunting. The web's public forum allows many enthusiasts to post a page on any topic without necessarily having the professional credentials to support the content.

      Chapter I.-Earliest Heretics: Simon Magus, Menander, Saturninus, Basilides, Nicolaus. [the Work Begins as a Fragment.]
    Of which heretics I will (to pass by a good deal) summarize some few particulars. For of Judaism's heretics I am silent-Dositheus the Samaritan, I mean, who was the first who had the hardihood to repudiate the prophets, on the ground that they had not spoken under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Of the Sadducees I am silent, who, springing from the root of this error, had the hardihood to adjoin to this heresy the denial likewise of the resurrection of the flesh. The Pharisees I pretermit, who were "divided" from the Jews by their superimposing of certain additaments to the law, which fact likewise made them worthy of receiving this very name;

    S omeday soon, if you haven't already, you're likely to plug into the computer network nation growing in our midst. Computer terminals, or small computers connected via modem (a modulator/demodulator circuit for encoding/decoding computer chatter) to ordinary telephone lines, should be as ubiquitous as the telephone itself. They're a much more useful and humane tool than the phone, and with corporate America behind them the networks will be everywhere-changing our lives more than any technology since the automobile.
        Joining a computer network is the same as joining a community. Small systems are like villages, where new members are formally welcomed. The larger networks, the Source and CompuServe, for example, are cities-anonymous, full of life and events, but difficult to fit into. However sharing the telephone line with your computer, is worst that sharing it with your siblings, or your teens. The line is always busy and if you can not afford “call waiting”, your friends won’t ever get to talk to you. So much for missing those important messages. Every one’s favor today is the newest high speed connectivity cable modem; some would still consider DSL cable which is only half the real speed of Cable Modems. When it comes to DSL, it truly depends of how many people you’re sharing the line connectivity with, how many of your neighbors are signed in with the same Internet company. Cable modem is a digital cable that it’s always up on running and the closest that we can gat to the great T1 line use by some of the company we work for.
