E-Mail This Article Published on Saturday, July 24, 2004 by the Canadian Press U.S. President George W. Bush a Big Winner at World Stupidity Awards by Nelson Wyatt World Stupidity Awards Bush was a dominating presence at the second edition of the awards presented at the Just for Laughs comedy festival. Host Lewis Black, whose biting satire is a highlight of TV's The Daily Show , took pride in the recognition the United States received at the awards, saying: "we are the gold standard." Black said the awards "celebrate the pros" and "perfection in idiocy" because real stupidity is hard work. "It's easy to fall down a manhole, it's easy to put the candles too close to the drapes, it's easy to launch a military invasion of another country based on a few blurry satellite photos," he observed. "This year my people, we scaled the Everest of stupidity and we stand upon its peak." Bush took the Stupidest Man of the Year Award and for the second time in the history of the two-year-old awards won the Stupidity Award for Reckless Endangerment of the Planet. That award was presented by Justin Trudeau, son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau. He got the biggest reaction of the night from females in the packed house, who hooted, whistled and yelled "yum" at him while he was on stage.

Elite Force Aviator:
George W. Bush - U.S. President and Naval Aviator
12" Action Figure
Price: $39.99 Pre-order: Available 09/15/03
Description
BBI proudly introduces the latest issue in its Elite Force series of authentic military 12- inch figures, President George W. Bush in naval aviator flight uniform. Exacting in detail and fully equipped with authentic gear, this limited-edition action figure is a meticulous 1:6 scale recreation of the Commander-in-Chief's appearance during his historic Aircraft Carrier landing. On May 1, 2003, President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in the Pacific Ocean, and officially declared the end to major combat in Iraq. While at the controls of an S-3B Viking aircraft from the "Blue Sea Wolves" of Sea Control Squadron Three Five (VS-35), designated "Navy 1," he overflew the carrier before handing it over to the pilot for landing. Attired in full naval aviator flight equipment, the President then took the salute on the deck of the carrier. This fully poseable figure features a realistic head sculpt, fully detailed cloth flight suit, helmet with oxygen mask, survival vest, g-pants, parachute harness and much more. The realism and exacting attention to detail demanded by today's 12-inch action figure enthusiast are met and exceeded with this action figure. This incredibly detailed figure is a fitting addition to the collection of those interested in U.S. history, military memorabilia and toy action figures. Actual figure may vary slightly from item shown.

Profile: US President George W. Bush
US President George W. Bush won reelection as his opponent Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry conceded defeat Wednesday, Nov.3, 2004. On July 6, 1946, Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but his family soon moved to Texas which he now considers his home. After receiving a bachelor's degree at Yale University in 1968, Bush served in the Texas Air National Guard for five years while tens of thousands of other people of his age including Democratic presidential contender John Kerry, fought in Vietnam His service in the National Guard came to the forefront during the 2000 campaign and back again during the 2004 campaign. Critics accused him of favoritism, saying his father, former US President George H.W. Bush, had pulled strings to help him shun the military duty in Vietnam. After the guard service, Bush received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1975. After graduating, he returned to Texas and began a career in energy business. With a group of other investors, he purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989 and served as a general managing partner.

George Bush Senior: Battle against a shadowy enemy
Former American President George Bush Senior has warned that America's war against terrorism is likely to be a long, drawn-out conflict. In an interview for the Breakfast With Frost programme - to be broadcast on BBC One on Sunday morning - Mr Bush Senior said the current crisis was very different to the Gulf War in which he headed the international coalition to expel Iraqi forces from Kuwait.
It's not going to be a 100-hour ground war, or a very effective TV air war
George Bush Senior The ex-president echoed the US Government's prediction that - unlike Desert Storm - the present campaign was unlikely to mirror the quick, clean kill that Washington and its allies scored in 1991. "It's not going to be a 100-hour ground war, or a very effective TV air war - it's going to be a different kind of a battle to win, but there's a determination, amongst world leaders, that we will win," he said.

    Historians vs. George W. Bush
    By Robert S. McElvaine
Mr. McElvaine teaches history at Millsaps College. He is the author of EVE'S SEED: BIOLOGY, THE SEXES AND THE COURSE OF HISTORY (McGraw-Hill). To see the graphics displayed on this page in a larger format click here. Although his approval ratings have slipped somewhat in recent weeks, President George W. Bush still enjoys the overall support of nearly half of the American people. He does not, however, fare nearly so well among professional historians. Why should the views of historians on the current president matter? best president since Reagan, while 38 said he is the worst since Reagan. Almost all of the historians who rate the Bush presidency a success are Reagan admirers. Indeed, no other president (leaving aside the presumably mostly tongue-in-cheek mentions of Clinton) was named by more than four of the historians who took a favorable view of the current presidency. “He is blatantly a puppet for corporate interests, who care only about their own greed and have no sense of civic responsibility or community service. He lies, constantly and often, seemingly without control, and he lied about his invasion into a sovereign country, again for corporate interests; many people have died and been maimed, and that has been lied about too. He grandstands and mugs in a shameful manner, befitting a snake oil salesman, not a statesman. He does not think, process, or speak well, and is emotionally immature due to, among other things, his lack of recovery from substance abuse. The term is "dry drunk". He is an abject embarrassment/pariah overseas; the rest of the world hates him . . . . . He is, by far, the most irresponsible, unethical, inexcusable occupant of our formerly highest office in the land that there has ever been.”

George Bush's resume by Kelly Kramer
August 21st, 2003 Welcome CNN viewers. In case the obviously different visual style and different domain don't give it away, this site is in no way affliated with recallbush.com. Furthermore, I didn't write the resume. I simply posted it. I strongly encourage you to read other articles on my weblog before jumping to conclusions about me or my political beliefs. For those who tend to take things too literally, this resume is clearly satire. It is trying to make a point by highlighting salient points of George Bush's career. If you're looking for a petition to recall Bush, you've come to the wrong place. You're also barking up the wrong tree. As far as I know, the constitution has no provisions for recalling the president. If you insist, visit this site June 15th, 2003 This page is now highly ranked by Google and I've been getting quite a bit of mail on the topic. I'm taking the unusual step of modifying previously published content because the google link means that people are unlikely to read other parts of my weblog first. I'd like to make something very clear: I did not write this resume. As I clearly state below and in the title of this page, it was written by Kelly Kramer. I found her email address on the web and asked her for permission to repoost. She was kind enough to grant me permission.

Message from United States President George W. Bush I'm proud to join you in commemorating the 150th year of the important relationship between the United States and Japan. Today, America has no closer ally than Japan. The American people are proud to claim the friendship of the fine citizens of Japan. Our two nations are bound by common interest, common values and common goals. Our alliance brings peace, stability, and hope for a better future to our own citizens and to people across the Pacific and around the world. Every year, our two economies produce more than 40% of the world's wealth. Together we lead the world in the scientific and technological advancement that defines our age. In 1854, representatives from our two countries negotiated the Treaty of Peace and Amity. Six years later, Japan sent its first official mission to San Francisco with 80 dignitaries eager to learn about America and to expand the contact between our two people. Today, millions of Japanese travel to the United States each year. Japanese culture, from food to film, enriches Americans' lives, and Ichiro is winning the hearts of young American baseball fans from coast to coast. The friendship between our people benefits the world. Japanese and American scientists collaborate to fight HIV/AIDS, and to develop new technologies to clean the world's environment. Our governments work together to stop the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, to bring peace to strife-torn lands, and to defeat the terrorists that threaten our common values. Our men and women in uniform serve alongside each other to maintain peace and stability in Asia. And at this hour, Japanese and American forces are helping the Iraqi people build a better future.
