Sexual relationships in Myanmar

If you are traveling to Myanmar, you may be interested in sexual relationships with locals, and no, I do not mean the services of prostitutes or other commercial providers. While you can meet Myanmarns interested in sex accidentally, the chances of success are not particularly high if you are there only for a limited period of time (as I said: no prostitutes). On the other hand, Myanmarns often are sexually attracted to foreign people. For young Myanmarn women, especially in the big cities, it is chic to have a Western boyfriend. So, there must be a trick to overcome the time-consuming "accidental", and to link more effectively the sexual interests of foreign visitors with those of locals. Try the Internet. Or, more to the point: try www.AdultfriendsFinder.com . The service lists a good number of Myanmar residents explicitly interested in non-commercial sexual relationships. While there are more males on the search than females, there are indeed an amazing number of women using the service. It is truly amazing how popular www.AdultfriendsFinder.com

Physical Geography of Burma
Burma's climate varies greatly from the temperate north and high-altitude zones to the equatorial regions far south. Annual rainfall ranges from over 5,000 millimeters (mm) along the coast to less than 800 mm in the rain-shadow of the Central Dry Zone where mountains running along the Arakan coast block the heavy monsoon rains. Most of the rainfall arrives between mid-May and October; a cold season occurs from November to January, followed by a hot season from February to mid-May. Forest Cover in Burma

Rangoon is its capital and largest city.
  • Under British control until 1948, it then became an independent republic. During World War II , the Allies and Japanese troops fought intense campaigns over control of the Burma Road, a vital supply link between China and India. Run by its military in the 1970s and 1980s, Burma saw its economy decline. Free elections in 1990 were won by the main opposition party, but the military government refused to relinquish its powers.

News and Reviews, Asian Educational Media Service-Univ. of IL/Champaign INSIDE BURMA exposes the history and brutality of one of the world's most repressive regimes. Nearly the size of Texas, with a population of more than 40 million, Burma has rich natural resources probably unequaled in Asia. Yet Burma is also a secret country. Isolated for the past 40 years, since a brutal military dictatorship seized power in Rangoon, this rich country has been relegated to one of the world's poorest, the assault on its people all but forgotten by the rest of the world.

World Facts Index Britain conquered Burma over a period of 62 years (1824-1886) and incorporated it into its Indian Empire. Burma was administered as a province of India until 1937 when it became a separate, self-governing colony; independence outside of the Commonwealth was attained in 1948. Gen. NE WIN dominated the government from 1962 to 1988, first as military ruler, then as president, and later as political kingmaker. Despite multiparty elections in 1990 that resulted in the main opposition party - the National League for Democracy (NLD) - winning a landslide victory, the ruling junta refused to hand over power. NLD leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient AUNG SAN SUU KYI, who was under house arrest from 1989 to 1995 and 2000 to 2002, was arrested in May 2003 and is currently under house arrest. Her supporters are routinely harassed or jailed.

This film introduces you to the complexity of irrigated rice agriculture in Southeast Asia by focusing on traditional agriculture and the ritual regulation of water delivery and planting cycles on the island of Bali in Indonesia. It also discusses the problems that arose when development agencies tried to 'modernize' this system. The purpose of this lecture is to introduce students to the main geographical features of Southeast Asia. The list below presents 1990 census information and a few characteristics of each country.
