British turf labyrinths - an update
Marilyn Clark
Over the last few years I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit all eight remaining English turf labyrinths, as well as the sites of two former ones. For the benefit of both existing and new enthusiasts I am able to present this updated report. Not all are easy to find or easily accessible, but all are well worth the effort involved in seeking them out.

Fairy Money and Fairy Gifts in General Fairy Tales and the Ancient Mythology Chapter I. But since the knowledge of our maturer years destroys all that, it is with a degree of satisfaction we can turn to the consolations of the fairy mythology. The beloved tales of old are 'not true' but at least they are not mere idle nonsense, and they have a good and sufficient reason for being in the world; we may continue to respect them. The wit who observed that the final cause of fairy legends is 'to afford sport for people who ruthlessly track them to their origin,' [Saturday Review,' October 20, 1877] expressed a grave truth in jocular form. Since one can no longer rest in peace with one's ignorance, it is a comfort to the lover of fairy legends to find that he need not sweep them into the grate as so much rubbish; on the contrary they become even more enchanting in the crucible of science than they were in their old character.

Appendix B: A Guide to the Gargoyles Universe
By Todd Jensen
a b c d ... z
Introduction
A few words of explanation are in order here. This is a sort of rough dictionary for the "Gargoyles Universe", the fictional world created in the late and lamented Disney animated series "Gargoyles" (1994-97). Greg Weisman and his fellow members of the production team for this series crafted one of the most carefully developed fantasy universes ever to serve as the setting for an animated television series, with a good attention to detail and consistency. As a result, to the many fans who watched this program, the universe of "Gargoyles" felt almost real. It certainly carried a considerable amount of depth and conviction, with a care that at times almost rivaled that given to the foremost literary fantasy world of our century, J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. The main source for this Guide is the animated series "Gargoyles" itself, which lasted three seasons. However, the third season, "The Goliath Chronicles", was made, for the most part, by a new production team that had not taken part in the making of the first two seasons, and apparently did not have quite as strong a grasp on the "Gargoyles Universe" as the original production team had done. Only one episode in the third season was made by Greg Weisman, the executive producter and creator of "Gargoyles", namely, "The Journey". The other twelve lagged so far behind the original 66 episodes of "Gargoyles" that most "Gargoyles" fans have preferred to forget them; they are certainly lacking in the careful world-building that the first two seasons showed. If "Gargoyles" were to be revived in the future, they would have to be treated as canon, of course, but for now, I have chosen to ignore them, except for an occasional footnote discussing their developments.

http://www.imninalu.net/myths-brits.htm
Myths, Hypotheses and Facts Concerning the Origin of Peoples The "Lost Tribes" of Israel - They Are NOT British -
It is essential to remark that the biblical concept of "Chosen People" that belongs to Israel is purely spiritual and has not racial or discriminatory implications towards any other nation - Judaism does not consider Jews to be better than any other people, but all human beings are equal; the status of Chosen People regards the task of keeping Torah and introducing Torah to the whole mankind and is not connected with ethnicity.
Brit-Am's manifest inferiority complex towards Jews generated the absurd demands to transfer the spiritual status of "Chosen People" that belongs to Israel into an actual ethnic superiority of the Anglo-Saxon peoples over any other, and mainly over Jews, whom they deeply envy and consider to be non-Israelites (in full agreement with the anti-Semites that pass the "Khazar myth" off as a truth and with other preachers of counterfeit stories).
Brit-Am's superstition is thoroughly based on false premises: They allege that the whole of the ten Tribes, led by Ephrayim and Menasheh, composed the Northern Kingdom of Israel - that henceforth will be mentioned by its later capital, Samaria - and that only Judah and part of Levi and Binyamin remained in the Kingdom of Judah.

The following is a long, long post. If you're not interested in reading about etymology of words, mythological inferences, and the Druidic calendar, then skip this now. But this is too good to pass up, IMHO. The author, John King, did an impressive job of researching the past, and I will do my poor best to summarize it. From The Celtic Druids' Year The Beth-Luis-Nion, named after its first three letters, just as we call our modern alphabet the ABC, has only thirteen consonants [corresponding to the 13 lunations or moon cycles of the year] and five vowels, as follows: B L N F S H D T C M G P R ; A O U E I Robert Graves, in The White Goddess , adds four letters to the Beth-Luis-Nion, as follows: B L N F S SS H D T C CC M G P R ; AA A O U E I II Top
The four added letters are 'doubles' of their accompanying letter. SS (or Z) follows S; CC (or Q) follows C; AA (or long O) precedes A; and II (or Y) follows I. The significance of the Beth-Luis-Nion alphabet is that it contains within it a series of references which would only be known to the initiated (specifically, Druidic initiates). The references as listed below are a greatly simplified version of the long, densely detailed description from Graves.
B is for Beth (beh), which means Birch.
