I was asked, "How do you know if something belongs under Ethnic Recipes?" I decide by the definition of Ethnic which according to the American Heritage Dictionary is: Of or relating to sizable groups of people sharing a common and distinctive racial, national, religious, linguistic, or culture heritage.
Amma's Indian Recipes

A small but nice collection of Indian recipes.
American-Friendly Filipino Recipes

Why is this called "American-Friendly"? The reasoning for this is that I know of many Americans (and non-Americans) who refuse to eat any ingredients that they might find "strange". That includes pork intestines, banana hearts, or strange tropical fruit. This section will ensure the picky eater that they will not need these ingredients in any of these dishes.

A goal of THE ARTISAN is to help visitors cook great Italian meals, and to do it with a minimum of fuss. This is a wonderful site full of Italian recipes. I plan to keep my eye on this site, the layout is also nicely done.

A nice site containing lots of information about Chinese cooking, they also have several recipes. I find the site hard to get around but if you have the time to spend, there are some nice resource here.

Great English Cooking
I remember a cookbook borrowed long ago from the library, titled Great English Cooking: A Well-Kept Secret. Until fairly recently, the English were not exactly known for their haute cuisine, although even critics would admit that they sure knew how to make cheese.
The abysmal reputation of British cooking may be due in part to the chronic food shortages that spanned half the Twentieth Century, from the beginning of the First World War until well into the fifties, long after rationing had stopped in the United States. Two generations of cooks had to make do, and making do does not encourage much in the way of experiment and daring. On the other hand, no less a mind than George Orwell turned his thoughts to the problem.

Home Cooking Regional cooking offers such rewards to the diligent student. Each area of the world and the United States offers something different. In some cases the differences are reflective of everything that characterizes that region including the geography, the ethnicity, the weather and politics. In New Orleans, seated at the mouth of the Mississippi River, you'll find the cajun cuisine, defined by its rich use of spices and the wonderful combination of shellfish with meats. In the Mid-West you'll discover the robust flavors of the meat industry; with Polish cooking adding incredible twists to sausage, brautwurst, steak and chicken.

Table of contents: Fergus Henderson caused something of a sensation when he opened his restaurant St John in London in 1995. Set in a former smokehouse near Smithfield meat market, its striking, high ceilinged white interior provides a dramatic setting for food of dazzling boldness and simplicity. As signalled by the restaurant's logo of a pig (reproduced on the cover of Nose to Tail Eating) and appropriately given the location, at St John the emphasis is firmly on meat. And not the noisettes, fillets, magrets and so forth of standard restaurant portion-control, all piled up into little towers in the middle of the plate: Henderson serves up the inner organs of beasts and fowls in big, exhilarating dishes that combine high sophistication with peasant roughness. Nose to Tail Eating is a collection of these recipes, celebrating, as the title implies, the thrifty rural British traditions of making delicious virtue out of using every part of the animal. This new edition, beautifully redesigned, comes with an introduction by Anthony Bourdain. For Pricing and Availability Click Here Static Book Details Page -

PARADE/LONDON BOMBINGS/TERRORISM
QUESTION – Thank you for welcoming us for what is a traditional interview, but one with a slightly unusual atmosphere today because at 1 p.m. you observed, like the 25 European Union countries, a two-minute silence in memory of the victims of the London terrorist attacks. So, New York, Madrid, London – today everyone is wondering, basically, which capital, perhaps, will be targeted tomorrow. Could it be Paris, even though France didn't participate in the Iraq war? THE PRESIDENT – I should first of all like to reiterate our solidarity with the British people. Solidarity I immediately expressed – we were in Scotland when it happened – to Her Majesty The Queen, the Prime Minister, the authorities and the British people who, I'd like to emphasize, have, once again, displayed admirable calm, efficiency, sang-froid and, earlier during the two-minute silence, I had a deep feeling of respect and friendship for the British people. Before coming to...
