ABXZone.com Forums ABX-Files Sticky Graveyard PDA View Full Version : BIOS destroyed on flashing, DON'T DO IT! JohnS 02-21-2001, 07:01 PM MY ADVICE is DON'T ever flash the BIOS, you are taking a chance at having a worthless system.
I managed to destroy my 1 week old system by flashing the bios to 1006. I had done it before without a problem but this time, after it flashed it said that it couldn't verify the data, or something like that. I knew I was in big trouble at that point and that I'd probably have an unusable system if I rebooted. I exited the flash program, ran it again, this time, it locked the machine.
Now the board has no bios, and is dead. I tried taking the battery out, how I wish it were so simple. I had Intel boards that had a safe recovery method where it would boot blindly from a floppy and reflash, NOT ASUS.
I don't think I'm gonna have it repaired because I'm sure it will cost a lot of money and take a very long time to get back.
So I wasted $150. At least it's not a LOT of money ;).
Am I going to buy another cusl2?

Michael Buffer may be famous for his catchy tagline, but I'm telling you he has to get sick of doing it night-in and night-out. On top of that, the guys career options are pretty limited. Needless to say, when I first about Midway's upcoming sluggfest, Ready 2 Rumble , was basically an idea that spawned out of Buffer's claim to fame, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, an announcing career is one thing, but a whole game? Is Midway really this hard up for ideas? Well, it turns out

Features Knockout Kings 2001 EA's premiere boxer comes out swinging hard. The question is, is it fast, deep, or any fun? by Doug Perry February 8, 2001 - Three years ago Electronic Arts single-handedly brought boxing back to the forefront of the videogame sports theater with Knockout Kings. License-hungry and prepared to expand its sports kingdom, EA bought up nearly all of the great licenses for old greats and current belt holders. From Sugar Ray Robinson and Rocky Marciano to Sugar Ray Lewis and Muhammad Ali to Lennox Lewis and Oscar De La Hoya, the franchise Knockout Kings was essentially perfectly built. But while the series immediately appealed to rapid boxing fans, hardcore gamers found the actual boxing to be awkward, slow and unsatisfying. Now, in its fourth iteration and for the first time on the PlayStation 2 Knockout Kings looks and plays better than ever before. With great Fantasy Fights between classic and modern contenders and Exhibition fights for true boxing fans and a deep Career mode for hardcore gamers, KK 2001 is a well-rounded boxing game that will satisfy most gamers without any excuses.

The immortal son of Zeus and Leto
The name usually appears in the Greek texts as Apollon , or Phoibos Apollon Leto traveled far and wide to find the suitable birthplace for Apollon. She finally came to the rocky island of Delos and knew that this would be the birthplace of her glorious son. The goddess, Delos , made Leto swear a great oath on the river Styx that her new son, Phoibos, would not abandon his birthplace and that he would always keep his temple on the humble island. Leto agreed, Apollon was soon to be born on Delos. After nine days and nights of travail, Phoibos was born with Rhea Dione Themis Ikhnaian and Aphrodite (goddess of Love) attending. He did not nurse at his mothers breast, instead, he was given nectar and ambrosia. He burst from the crib and announced his intentions: to play the lyre and carry the curved bow. Known as the twin of Artemis and also referred to as the Striker from Afar (Hymn to Apollon) . The seventh day of each month is holy to Apollon. (The Works and Days, line 770+)

PHILLY BOXING HISTORY Home Boxers Fights Arenas ... More About Contact WHY PHILADELPHIA BOXING HISTORY? Every time I searched the Internet for the names of any of my favorite Philly fighters, I was always disappointed with the results. There was a ton of boxing information on the Web and many great sites that I visited everyday – several times a day. But there seemed to be a real lack of specific info regarding Philadelphia boxing. I was surprised by how little I could find. Really, only the Peltz Boxing site offered any real focus on the subject. For a long time, I wished for a comprehensive source for all things Philly Boxing – records, stories, memorabilia, details, photos, lists, and something that put it all into context. So, I decided to begin this site with the hope that it will become exactly that – a record of Philadelphia’s great boxing past – the characters, events, venues and legends. The site is a work in progress and has a long way to go. However, I am dedicated to developing it into something great. Then when a fan searches a name like 'Bennie Briscoe', they will find some real information about him as well as additional data on his contemporaries, his place among them, his era, his importance, and more. I want Philly Boxing History - everything that took place - to be remembered by all and I want it to be easily accessible. As a teen in the 1970’s, my brother would take me to the Spectrum fights. We saw Jeff Chandler, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Jerome Artis, Curtis Parker, Alfonso Hayman, Youngblood Williams, and many others. The first title fight I attended in person was Mike Rossman vs. Aldo Travesaro at the Spectrum in 1978. Those nights really made an impression.

While USA Boxing is disappointed that the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Board of Directors followed the recommendation of the Membership and Credentials Committee and elected to place USA Boxing on probation, we view this time as an opportunity to create a more efficient and effective organization to support our athletes and coaches. We look forward to working with the USOC to come into compliance with the recommendations and are confident that we can do so to the satisfaction of the Membership and Credentials Committee. We have already taken active steps to address some of the USOC’s concerns and we plan on continuing this process in the coming months.
