It also has an increasing number of important conservation collections of Tasmanian plants and the world's only Subantarctic Plant House. Prior to European settlement local Aboriginal tribes used the site, and traces of their occupation are still apparent. A number of historic structures, including two convict-built walls, date back to the Gardens' earliest days.

72. Welcome To Spetchley Park And Gardens
A Victorian garden with woodland and herbaceous plants seldom found outside the major botanical gardens. Offers rare trees, shrubs and plants.
http://www.spetchleygardens.co.uk/
History Welcome to Our Garden Gardener's Diary Links
Virtually hidden from the road, and largely unaltered in the last century, this lovely 30 acre Victorian paradise, belonging to Mr. and Mrs. R.J.G. Berkeley, has been lovingly created by successive generations of the Berkeley family, and boasts an enviable collection of plant treasures from every corner of the globe. Clumps of wild primrose push up randomly through sapphire carpets of crocus and swathes of sunny daffodils in Spring, with billowing borders of blowsy perennials and tender exotics in Summer, and a palette of burnt orange, ochre and fiery red in Autumn. From the first tantalizing glimpse of the garden across the magnolia-fringed Horse Pool, back round to the entrance through the Melon Yard with its olives and delicious pineapple-scented flowers, Spetchley is full of surprises. There are unexpected vistas framed by borrowed landscape, far-reaching views of the Malvern Hills, and a surprise around every corner, be it the rare and quirky Root House, the delightful statues of Adam and Eve watching over the Bath stone alcove or the mighty Lucombe oak tree on the Cork Lawn.

Community botanical garden of the world's rarest and most unusual plants in themed environments, bringing together art, people, and nature. City of Vista, California.
http://www.altavistagardens.org
The Vista Botanical Forest has been renamed and reborn. Our new name is Alta Vista Gardens reflecting the wonderful view that our site offers it's visitors.
In conjunction with the City of Vista , we are creating a garden for our community and for all of San Diego County. Alta Vista Botanical Gardens shall harmoniously incorporate education, nature and art.
As we set out to create this garden, we welcome community input and participation on all levels. This garden is being built for you and we need your help! If you have time or talent, come visit us and help us build our dream!
Alta Vista Gardens is in the early stages of developing a new standard for botanical gardens. While holding true to traditional scientific approach to botanical gardens, and providing an interactive, living classroom for North San Diego County students, the gardens will take a new approach to create a completely new interpretation of what a botanical garden can become. As the gardens continue to be developed, plant enthusiasts will be thrilled at the wide variety of rare, beautiful and remarkable plants which will be showcased in the gardens. For everyone else in the community, there will be equally compelling reasons to come to the gardens.
