P e k i n g O p e r a B l u e s Hanyu Pinyin : Dao Ma Den, Literal: Knife, Horse, Dawn Brigitte Lin plays a patriotic daughter, Tsao Wan, of a warlord, Sally Yeh (Bai Neil) is the hopeful daughter of a theatre owner who hopes to become a Peking opera actress and Cherie Chung (Sheung Hung) is an opportunistic courtesan who wants to be rich. Mark Cheng (Pak Hoi) is also a patriot who is attarcted to Sally. Kenneth Tsang as General Tsao is the general who is willing to betray his country for money but loves his daughter so dearly that he is willing to die for her. Tsao Wan is living a very comfortable life. However, her love for the country is so strong that she is willing to betray her father. The other 2 ladies have short-term objectives and weaknesses but with Tsao Wan's influence and courage, they helped the patriots. Such a marvelous riveting show! The script is so tight and there are no loose ends. Brigitte has such a wonderful multi-dimension leading role which shows courage, pain, anxiety, filial piety, loyalty, anger and friendship which was done with such conviction and passion. The other actors and actresses added their supporting roles beautifully. Look out for the rooftop fighting scene. This show is definitely a must-see! A great movie! The DVD contains subtitles in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Vietnamese, Spanish.

Since then we've played over 500 shows, including the Chesapeake bay blues festival and the Baltimore blues festival (twice!). LINKS Introduction The Delta Blues Education Fund was founded in November, 1992with the mission statement "to bring together the children and mastermusicians of the Mississippi Delta for the continuation of the Delta Bluestradition." Approximately eighty-seven percent of its budget is used topay master Delta Blues artists (and for direct support materials such as musicalinstruments). The important musical genre the Delta Blues was born inthe community and geographic region served by the DBEP. Even though Deltanatives Muddy waters, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, andothers left for more promising opportunities elsewhere, hundreds of otherartists stayed behind and keep the tradition alive at home where it is played atweddings, house parties, fish fries, juke joints and festivals. Ninety-fivepercent of the DBEP's apprentices are Black, and most have Native Americanheritage. Most come from impoverished families, and are between the ages of 9and 15. Many of the best apprentices are considered "at risk"children in the local school systems. The Delta Community served by the DBEP issixty-five percent African-American, and predominately rural/agricultural based. Graduates of the DBEP include Howard Stovall, Billy Gibson, Arthneice "Gas Man" Jones, Harvell & Dione Thomas, Anthony Sherard, Venessia Young, Artrelle Earl, Lee Williams, Fred Hicks and John Ruskey.
