I. IPM NEWS - international IPM news and programs
Note: Coincidentally, two major reports concerning biotech crops were released recently. While IPMnet NEWS holds no special brief for biotechnology as such, its impact and increasing presence clearly affect the future application and adoption of IPM. Thus, information about these two biotech-related reports follows.
National Study Finds Biotech Does It All
Sharply increase crop production on the same amount; significantly reduce the annual volume of pesticide applied; and generate truckloads of additional cash for agriculture. It's a win-win-win combination that reads like a proponent's wildest hope, but is, in reality, the prediction of an expert group based on extensive results from 40 studies of 27 biotech crops all across the U.S.A.

Eppic Environmental Index The Eppic Index is a compilation of environmental journal article titles and environmental conference paper titles since 1970, organized by decade (1970-79, 1980-89, 1990-99, and 2000-04), into over 400 content categories for a total of over 108,000 entries. The CD is updated annually for new information and missing prior year information. An updated CD will be available by May 31 of each year. The Eppic Index has been expanded this year by 25%, adding 73 conference proceedings to the 52 journals previously included. Four new journals have also been added Thanks (and complimentary copies of the 2005 CD) go to journal publishers and conference sponsors who provided material to be incorporated. Additional publishers and conference sponsors are invited to provide materials for the 2006 CD for increased visibility of your publication or conference. We hope you will find this CD not only complete, but easy to use and follow. We do not claim perfection, however, and welcome your suggestions for improvement.
