Mycological Resources on the Internet: General Topics
Fungal biology and other difficult to classify information
A Plain and Easy Account of British Fungi, by M.C. Cooke
Cooke's 1898 book, "A Plain and Easy Account of British Fungi (6th edition)" is an early introductory text. Mike Walton has posted it on the web.
A practical guide to mycorrhiza
A basic introduction to mycorrhizae, with tips on how to select and use inoculum in your garden or landscape. A Japanese version is also available.
A Treatise on the Esculent Funguses of Britain, by C.D. Badham
Badham's 1847 book, "A Treatise on the Esculent Funguses of England" is an early account of edible fungi. Many of the scientific names have changed now, but the text and its accompanying plates are an interesting diversion. Mike Walton has posted it on the web.
Agaricales of the Hawaiian Islands
Both native and introduced mushrooms are found on the Hawaiian Islands, the latter being especially plentiful. This site includes photographs and catalogs of Hawaiian agarics.
Airborne fungal spores
This online guide to airborne fungal spores covers identification, counting techniques, and a discussion of spores as allergens.

... ASFA 1: Biological Sciences and Living Resources For scientists involved in the cooperative management of the world's living aquatic resources, ASFA 1 provides extensive coverage of basic and applied research on aquatic organisms. All aspects of marine, freshwater, and brackish water organisms and environments are examined, including information on biology and ecology of aquatic organisms, exploitation of living resources, and related legal, policy, and socioeconomic issues. Since natural resources are an important feature of ASFA 1, fisheries receive particular attention, with comprehensive sections that put scientists and managers in touch with the latest fishing methods, statistics, aquaculture, food technology, productivity, conservation, and marketing.
Abstracts cover laboratory studies of aquatic organisms as well as research in the field. All types of source documents dealing with aquatic organisms and issues that affect their environment are surveyed. And the journal's hierarchic subject classification, with multiple indexes, makes it easy to locate specific information. ASFA 1 represents an indispensable resource for researchers, administrators, policy makers, and librarians whose work is involved with the science, technology, and management of marine, brackish water, and freshwater environments and organisms.
