It still provides the Law Enforcement officers with an ordinance they can refer to if they would need to take action against people skateboarding or roller blading, or using other types of toy vehicles on Village streets. He pointed out the revisions to the original ordinance, then opened the subject up for discussion. Trustee Mullen, the other member of the Public Safety and Health Committee, commented that he was in favor of the revised ordinance, too. This ordinance allows the Village Staff flexibility in determining whether or not a particular user is using due caution. That is important because Village Staff and some residents have identified individuals who have been creating hazards both in our business district and on the streets. The ordinance only prohibits these activities on the train station platform. Jumps and ramps are not allowed, either. It allows the skateboarding or rollerblading activity elsewhere but the individual must use due caution.
