STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
Kalamazoo College Alcohol Policy General Information Kalamazoo College's alcohol policy is consistent with state law regarding alcoholic beverages and its commitment to helping students be responsible adults. Students twenty-one years and older who choose to use alcohol should do so in a responsible manner and in accordance with state law. Irresponsible drinking may adversely affect academic performance, interfere with personal relationships, or result in illness, injury or death. Drinking should be a well thought out behavior that displays respect for oneself and for the community. Information about the impact of alcohol and treatment of substance abuse can be found in the materials sent to each student annually under the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act. Summary of Michigan Law It is illegal to purchase, consume, or possess alcoholic beverages unless one has attained the age of twenty-one. It is illegal to provide alcoholic beverages to or provide false identification for a person under the age of twenty-one. (Refer to state statutes for the most complete explanation of the laws of Michigan.)

University of Wisconsin-Stout Policy Policy No. 83-35 rev.

1.0 BACKGROUND
UW-Stout neither solicits nor promotes the sale or consumption of alcohol beverages on its campus. The following policy has been established to insure that the service of alcohol beverages at the university is in compliance with all state and federal laws. The policy also reflects the university's philosophy that the service of alcohol beverages must promote and encourage the responsible use of alcohol.
2.0 POLICY
2.1 With the exception of alcohol beverages used in the academic training of students in selected programs and its private use in university housing facilities, it is the policy of the University of Wisconsin-Stout that there will be no alcohol beverage service on the campus unless approved by the Director of the Memorial Student Center and served by University Dining Services. 2.2 All alcohol beverage services must be requested through and approved by the Director of the Memorial Student Center or designate.

... The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs UNIVERSITY POLICY ON THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES General Statement The University Policy on the Use of Alcoholic Beverages establishes a general framework for specific present and future campus or college rules and regulations on the use of alcohol. However, in addition to the establishment of basic policies and regulations, much remains to be considered concerning the use of alcoholic beverages at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. It must be recognized that here, as in society, the rational and responsible use of alcoholic beverages depends upon forms of teaching, conditioning, and social pressure which go beyond the purview of formal policies or regulations. Nevertheless, it may be said generally that the University expects its members to demonstrate respect and regard for the rights, property and persons of all individuals; to take responsibility for their own actions; and to act to reduce risks of damage and harm. In terms of regulation it may also be pointed out that the University enforces prohibition of the use of alcoholic beverages in the athletic facilities of the University and other specific restrictions. Any exceptions to these rules must be expressly authorized by the Senior Vice President and Treasurer. In addition, in order to discourage abuse of alcoholic beverages and assist those already in trouble, a program of alcohol education and training and an Alcohol Assistance Program (for those with alcohol related problems) have been established at the University.

http://www.ri.cmu.edu/roboorg/semi-private/social_howtos/punch.txt
From: http://www.NeoSoft.com/recipes/beverages.html Fruit Punch (punch 09) 1 (46 oz) Red Hawaiian fruit punch 1 (6oz) can frozen lemonade 1 (6oz) can frozen orange juice 1 (6 oz) can frozen grape juice 1 pint bottle ginger ale 6 cups cold water Put fruit punch, lemonade, orange juice, grape juice, and water in large punch bowl and stir together. Pour ginger ale in carefully. Yield 30 cups DELICIOUS SUMMER PUNCH (punch 07) 1- 12 ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed) 1- 6 ounce can frozen lemonade (thawed) 1- 32 ounce bottle cranberry juice cocktail, chilled Add these to the punchbowl and stir. Then SLOWLY pour in 1- 2 litre bottle Sprite TIP: Make one batch the day before you plan to use it and freeze it in your jello ring. Use that to ice your punch in the punchbowl so that as it melts, it does not dilute the punch. You may wish to add maraschino cherries or other decorative fruit to the ring prior to freezing. Golden Summer Fruit Punch (punch 08) 1-12 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate 1-12 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate 1-48 oz. can apricot nectar 1-48 oz. can pineapple juice 1-2 liter bottle ginger ale Dilute the orange juice and lemonade as directed on can. Mix with remaining ingredients. Yield: about 2 gallons. When I serve this as a punch at showers, birthday parties, etc. it is a really big hit. Very tasty and thirst quenching. I fix it once a week or so in the summer just for my family. next 3 are under "punch" (no number) Sunny Holiday Punch 1 can (46-oz) Dole Pinapple Juice, chilled 1 bottle (28-oz) mineral water or club soda, chilled 1 can (6-oz) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed 1 lemon or lime, thinly sliced 2 cups fresh or frozen berries 1 bottle (750ml) chilled champagne, optional (Note: I substitute a bottle of 7-UP here) Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl. Another note: I find this punch to be a little on the tart side so I add a tablespoon or 2 of sugar to the mix. GOLDEN GLOW PUNCH 25 servings (about 1/2 cup each) (For more servings, just keep the same proportions. The book also suggests using 2 large punch bowls when serving 150, and putting a different flavor of sherbet in each bowl.) 1 can (6 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed 1 can (6 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed 1 quart apple juice, chilled 2 quarts ginger ale, chilled 1 pint lemon or orange sherbet, if desired Ice Ring (instructions following), if desired - Pour the concentrate and the apple juice into the punch bowl. - Stir the ginger ale into the bowl. - Spoon in sherbet or add an Ice Ring. - Serve immediately. ICE RING Requirements: - A ring mold (one that fits into the punch bowl you'll be using) - Fruit slices - Water Instructions: - Arrange thin overlapping slices of lime, orange, and lemon in a ring mold. - Pour water into mold to partially cover fruit (about 1/4 inch); freeze. - When frozen, add more water to fill mold 3/4 full; freeze. - Unmold ring and float fruit side up in punch. Nonalcoholic Party Punch (from Cooking for a Crowd by Susan Wyler) Makes about 3 gallons (punch 04) 2 bottles ( 1-1/2 quarts each) Mauna L'ai guava/passion-fruit drink 2 bottles (1-1/2 quarts each) cranberry juice cocktail 2 quarts grapefruit juice 3 bottles (1 liter each) ginger ale 4 or 5 limes, halved lengthwise and cut into thin slices 1. In a large punch bowl, blend together juices and ginger ale. Add 2 trays ice cubes and the lime slices. 2. To serve, put 2 or 3 ice cubes in glass or cup and ladle on the punch, making sure everyone gets a slice of lime. I made this for a dinner party for 45. The other beverage choice was water and there seems to be just enough punch for everyone. All purpose punch (US mongrel measures) (punch 02) 1 2-liter bottle clear pop (club soda, gingerale, lemon-lime or similar) 1 12-oz can frozen orange juice 1 can (42 oz? more than a quart anyway) pineapple juice Reconstitute the orange juice in the punch bowl, add the pineapple juice and soda pop. Add an ice ring. Makes about 5 qts (l) per batch. If you want a more orangey-red color the new raspberry ginger ale flavor (pink) also tastes good. Notice this is not too sweet. If you have a good size punch bowl a bundt cake pan molds an ice ring that will last several hours before it melts unless it is 100F in the shade. Congratulations! Becky's Punch (punch 03) 2 12-oz cans frozen pink (or yellow) lemonade concentrate 1 12-oz can frozen limeade concentrate 1 46-oz can pineapple juice 3 lemonade cans cold water 1 2-liter bottle 7-up (or your favorite) Mix it all together, add some pretty ice rings, mint leaves, etc. for decoration. Makes about 6 quarts. Nice refreshing lime/pineapple taste, easy to keep extra makings in reserve. Happy wedding!
