Belgium Time and Date Belgium History Back to Top Belgium derives its name from a Celtic tribe, the Belgae, whom Caesar described as the most courageous tribe of Gaul. the Belgae were forced to yield to Roman legions during the first century B.C. For some 300 years thereafter, what is now Belgium flourished as a province of Rome. But Rome's power gradually lessened. In about A.D. 310, Attila the Hun invaded what is now Germany and pushed Germanic tribes into northern Belgium. About 100 years later, the Germanic tribe of the Franks invaded and took possession of Belgium. The northern part of present-day Belgium became an irresistibly Germanized and Germanic-Frankish-speaking area, whereas in the southern part people continued to be Roman and spoke derivatives of Latin. After coming under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy and, through marriage, passing into the possession of the Hapsburgs, Belgium was occupied by the Spanish and the Austrians.

HISTORY AND POLITICS Belgium's independence (1830 - present time) At the Congress of Vienna, in 1815, Belgium (The Southern Netherlands) and the
Northern Netherlands (Holland) were united to form one State. This new state was ruled by King William I. Although his policy was beneficial to the Belgian bourgeoisie, there was protest. The Catholics objected against the interference of the protestant king in clerical matters. The Liberals demanded more freedom. In 1828 Catholics and Liberals drew up
a concerted programme of demands. The association between Catholics and Liberals was called unionism. After a series of incidents, the revolution erupted in Brussels in 1830.
William I sent in his troops, but they were expelled on September 27th, 1830.
The rebels received support from volunteers outside the city. Following this rising Belgium separated from the Northern Netherlands. A provisional government declared independence on October 4th, 1830. On November 3th of the same year, a National Congress was elected by an electorate of 30,000 men, who paid a given level of taxes or who had special qualifications. On February 7th, 1831 the national congress adopted a constitution which,
for its time, was very progressive.

    • Roman Period ( 57 B.C. to 455 A.D) :
Between 57 and 50 B.C. Julius Cesar conquered the northern part of Gaul, the area lying roughly in the basins of the Scheldt and the Meuse. The land was inhabited then by Gallo-Celtic tribes, including the BELGAE. Between 15 B.C. and the fifth century it was under Roman occupation as Gallia Belgica until Rome weakened and the Francs began to penetrate the region.
    • Frankish Empire (455-843) :
As a result of the advance of the Franks, a Germanic people, in the 5th century, the Flemings prevailed in the north (an area stretching from the lower Scheldt to the Ardennes) , separating them from the WALA (Walloons or Romanized Celts), whose Latin influence underlies the French language of the region. And so, the ethnic and linguistic frontiers of today had their beginning. Upon Charlemagne's death, the area later known as Belgium, was among the first objectives of invaders and remained a battlefield for hundreds of years.

Belgium became independent from the Netherlands in 1830 and was occupied by Germany during World Wars I and II. It has prospered in the past half century as a modern, technologically advanced European state and member of NATO and the EU. Tensions between the Dutch-speaking Flemings of the north and the French-speaking Walloons of the south have led in recent years to constitutional amendments granting these regions formal recognition and autonomy. Leuven (Louvain), Belgium
Leuven in 2004 Leuven Louvain in French, L¶wen in German) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, of which it is the capital. The municipality comprises the city of Leuven proper and the towns of Heverlee, Kessel-Lo, a part of Korbeek-Lo, Wilsele and Wijgmaal. On January 1st, 2004 Leuven had a total population of 89,777 (44,204 males and 45,573 females). The total area is 56.63 km² which gives a population density of 1,585.27 inhabitants per km². The first known mention of the name Leuven was in 891, as 'Loven'. In the same year, the Vikings were finally defeated near Leuven. Supposedly the red-white-red city flag of Leuven depicts the blood-stained shores of the river Dijle after this battle. Situated at this river, round the stronghold of the feudal "Counts of Louvain" as they are conventionally called, Leuven became a very important center of trade in the 11th century and would remain so until the 14th century. A hint of its former importance as a center of cloth manufacture, is nicely reflected in the name the city lent to a kind of linen cloth, known in late 14-15th-century texts as lewyn (variant spellings:

  • 34. Sysmex Belgium History
In 1988, Erich Müller and Theo Schumacher decided to write a software package for the information and data management in medical laboratories.
    http://www.sysmex.be/group/contenu12.html
The first two years were entirely devoted to the development of MOLIS (Modular Open Laboratory Information System). The first installation took place in spring 1989 in a private laboratory in Munich (D). After this first installation the commercialisation of the specialized product was so successful that now, MOLIS is installed in more than 165 medical laboratories all over the world. Thanks to its modular structure, the software fits for big and medium sized labs as well as for small specialized labs. It can be installed in public or university hospitals but also in private laboratories and clinics. For example, MOLIS has been installed in a German lab that treats about 11000 patients, 22.000 blood or urine samples, prints 10.000 letters and 6.000 bills per day. In 1997, the company decided to identify itself more closely with the product and changed its name into Molis. The works for the new building fall together with a project for the growth of the company, reinforced by the ISO 9001 certification that was obtained in December 2000. The certification of the quality management system allows to Sysmex Molis to establish a transparent structure for its activities and organisation. Sysmex Molis is oriented towards the continuous research of absolute customer satisfaction through an excellent product and a high quality service. On the other hand, the new organisation enables the company to a worldwide expansion. Thanks to the use of the latest technological tools, MOLIS can pretend today being a leader in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). The extraordinary performance of the system has ensured its position on the European market (Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, United Kingdom). In the USA the MOLIS package is already installed in a medical laboratory in Texas and in the state of New York. More installations will follow for a mutli-site lab corporation installed in seven different states from the East to the West Coast. The MOLIS software package is present in Japan and in a big private New Zealand laboratory.

    Before independence (1815-1830)
by French First Empire , the Vienna Congress decided to unify Belgium and Holland under William I's rule. The new kingdom of the Netherlands inherited more than 200 vessels abandoned by France in the ports of Den Helder and Antwerp . Since those vessels were old, the king decided to start a reconstruction program and it took 15 years to build 34 new vessels. Holland and Belgium shared the costs. These warships as well as the merchant navy hoisted the horizontally divided red-white-blue ensign, already known in the XVIth century.

    The TRUTH About "Belgium"
The New World Order's Belgian Conspiracy
    by Lyle Zapato
    "Belgium Doesn't Exist!"
or "Land of Sprouts and Chocolate, I Think Not."
(or " " for our imaginary friends)
For too long we have been told lies. Postal Propaganda: Belgian "Super-man" squints hard to see his non-existant country. No such luck, Baudy. The existence of the supposed European country of Belgium has been taken as gospel for years by members of the Liberati. It has long been held up as a shining example of Liberal philosophies in action. However, now is the time the truth be known. Belgium doesn't exist. Belgium is, and has always been, a leftist ruse; a device applied to propagate the Liberal agenda throughout the world . Hijacking a real country for this use would be difficult at best; the people living there wouldn't stand for it (i.e. the fall of communism.) Thus the idea to invent an imaginary country, insert it into the global consciousness through the perversion of history, and use it as a tool of manipulation was born. A typical Belgian building... or so we're told.
