Evans had served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs from 2000-2004 after returning to his alma mater in 1998 as Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs. Cheryl Levick Position:
Director of Athletics
Before joining Saint Louis University in June 2004, Cheryl L. Levick spent four years as the director of athletics and recreation at Santa Clara University. She is the president of the NCAA Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association. Levick oversaw a time of significant growth at Santa Clara. In her first three years at the Mission Campus, Levick reorganized the department’s administrative staff, spearheaded a major renovation of its basketball arena, opened a new administrative office suite, received a $42.75 million commitment from the University’s capital campaign and developed a five-year strategic plan. During that time, the department also added nine new athletic scholarships, sold out and managed the 2002 NCAA Men’s Basketball West Regional, won the school’s first-ever NCAA title in a women’s sport when the women’s soccer team claimed the 2001 national championship and successfully completed an NCAA certification process. Levick became the first female athletic director to be appointed at Santa Clara, and the first female athletic director in the West Coast Conference. She also entered a position in which fewer than 10 percent of Division I athletic directors nationwide are women. Levick also was a senior administrator at the 8, 000-student Jesuit Catholic University.

Lisa Love Position:
Athletic Director
Lisa Love, Vice President for University Athletics On Saturday, April 23, 2005, Arizona State University President Michael Crow selected Lisa Love of the University of Southern California to serve as the new Vice President for University Athletics. She began in that capacity July 1, 2005. In June, prior to her ASU arrival, Love had planned to climb 14,162-foot Mount Shasta in northern California, adding yet another accomplishment to an already impressive personal resume. But the opportunity to assume the athletic director's chair at ASU postponed those plans, perhaps to another year. A trailblazer her entire career, Love is now poised for the most challenging and fulfilling climb of her professional life. Love became ASU's 21st athletic director (17th full-time) after taking over for Christine Wilkinson, who is a senior vice president for the university and had been serving as interim athletic director since April 8. Former athletic director Gene Smith left the university April 8 for a similar post at The Ohio State University.
