School of Recreation and Sports Sciences
Ming Li, Director The School of Recreation and Sport Sciences offers diverse academic programs in athletic training education, exercise physiology, physical education, recreation studies, and sport industry. In addition to these majors, a minor in recreation is also available. Committed to excellence in undergraduate education, most programs in the school have been accredited or approved by national accrediting agencies or organizations, such as National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), and Sport Management Program Review Council (SMPRC). The school faculty are committed to promoting the pursuit of an active and healthy lifestyle. For information about the programs, go to our Web site at http://www.ohio.edu/rsps/index.htm Note: Courses offered through the School of Recreation and Sport Sciences vary in number of times they can be retaken (i.e., initial registration plus retake). If you need to know the limit for a course, contact the college's Student Services office. Variable credit courses usually cannot be retaken (i.e., with the possibility of the initial grade no longer being figured in the accumulative grade point calculation) but can be repeated for credit to count toward your degree. While no limit has been set for repeats of PED courses, individual majors, schools, departments, and colleges may limit the number of such hours that can count toward graduation.
