INTRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE NEW DEVELOPMENTS CONVENTION FACILITIES ... SITE MAP other publications MICE International Dubai MICE Egypt Incentives Oman MICE ... Morocco Incentives Attractions Culture and adventure To fully experience Bahrain’s attractions, a well-structured and organised tour is essential, and these can be easily arranged through the many established destination management and tour companies in the island nation.
Depending on the interest of visiting groups, these could be classified generally into cultural and heritage tours, adventure trips to the desert, sports packages, or simply pleasure cruises.
There are many itineraries that allow visitors to obtain a complete experience of Bahrain and the one provided below is just a sample.
DAY 1
Upon arrival in Manama, the group will be met and assisted by the destination management company’s staff at the airport and transferred to their hotel in modern coaches.
At the hotel, each member of the group will be greeted with a traditional Bahraini welcome, a cocktail reception and group check-in. Guests will have the choice of dining in the hotel or at a selection of restaurants offering varied cuisine.
DAY 2
Following a buffet breakfast, guests are taken on a cultural tour of Bahrain to visit its many museums, heritage houses and forts. The guided city tour, in air-conditioned comfort, will take visitors through the old and new facets of the city. These include the Al Fateh Grand Mosque, Bahrain National Museum, Bait Al Quran and Bahrain Fort.

Bahrain's long history is closely interwoven with the sea and it is therefore not surprising that its traditions have a distinctly maritime flavour, ranging as they do from songs and dances associated with pearling and fishing to the skills of boat building and sailing. Bahrain is also part of the regional tribal culture involving crafts, stories, poetry, song and dance. Today many of the latter are still practiced on special occasions while practical art forms such as cloth weaving, pottery, and basketry are kept alive, often with various forms of government support. Traditional carpentry is often used to adorn modern buildings while embroidery is highly valued in dress making and for home decorations. Bahrain's rich heritage is nurtured and protected by the Bahrain government, which tackles programmes through a number of organisations.
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Information has relied upon a practical strategy in tackling cultural issues, that views culture as a basic and fundamental dimension in the process of achieving comprehensive development at all socio-economic and political levels. Culture is also in the front-line of defence aimed at confronting any malicious intentions or actions that seek to jeopardise the country's national achievements. In addition to that it is considered to be an impetus which will give momentum to human development.

Background:
Bahrain's small size and central location among Persian Gulf countries require it to play a delicate balancing act in foreign affairs among its larger neighbors.
Possessing minimal oil reserves, Bahrain has turned to petroleum processing and refining, and has transformed itself into an international banking center.
The new amir is pushing economic and political reforms, and has worked to improve relations with the Shi'a community. Cultural Values
  • Abide by the laws of the Muslim holy book, the Koran Religion is a central part of Bahraini culture, and work often stops during prayer times (5 times a day) Extended family ties play a fundamental role in Bahraini culture Father is the ultimate authority Respect and loving attitude toward the elderly Some marriages are arranged or at least require parental approval
    Islam
Health Care Values
  • Food deprivation is considered a precursor to illness. Carefully explain theneed to be NPO. The family may be opposed to telling a family member the full extent of a grave prognosis. It is believed that hope helps a patient to cope with an illness, it will be upsetting to the patient, and only God can determine if hope is futile. Any grave information should not be communicated solely to the patient, but should include the family spokesperson - generally, the eldest male. A plan of care/communication about the disease process should be developed.

Welcome to PersianMirror home login search link to us ... about us
Iran will play Bahrain on February 9th in Manama. For many Iranians, this is probably Iran’s most important match of the qualification round. The significance of the match is both due to its impact on the qualification process as well as the emotional weight it carries. Over three years ago, Iran played Bahrain in the same competition in Manama and lost 3 - 1. Iranians still are upset on how they were treated that day. That is a different topic for a different day. As it will be discussed below, Bahrain is a fast team with sharp forwards. Bahrain likes to take the ball to the middle of the penalty box with quick deep passes or low crosses, create space for her forwards and score on low shots. Bahrain has a disciplined offense and of the games covered in this article, they scored 38 goals in 17 matches. Defensively, Bahrain is a team with many deficiencies. Defenders are not skilled and Iranian players should be able to succeed on 1-on-1 encounters. Additionally, Iran’s offense should do well in the air.

The Dilmun Civilization
(3200 - 1600 B.C.)

A holy land, a flourishing civilization and one of the largest ancient necropolises in the world I n Bahrain, a visitor is always surprised by the thousands of graves and burial mounds that extend over 18 miles in successive swells of knolls along the roads here. The tombs lie peacefully between the districts of many new towns. And, in an odd juxtaposition of past and present, oil pipelines which are always built above ground level in Bahrain edge their way alongside the burial mounds. Bahrain is one of the world's largest necropolises with an estimated 170,000 graves, most of which date back to the third and second millenniums B.C. Some people believe that the ancient Egyptians buried their dead here, but archaeologists have discovered vases and jars from Mesopotamia and the Valley of the Indus in the royal tombs of A'ali and in Sar. Although throughout the centuries robbers have stripped the tombs, archaeologists have still been able to find arms, carnelian jewels from the Valley of the Undus, bronze and copper objects. Their contents were the same as the cooper used in Magan in the Sultanate of Oman during the third millennium B.C. Seals from Dilmun were also found, which were imprinted with tales of the merchants' everyday life of the time.
