Bahamas The Freeport News Monday, June 27, 2005 Young Canadians participating in Agape House's Youth Week By JEREMY FRANCIS Freeport News Reporter A group of young Christians out of Grand Manan, an island off of Canada, are currently in Grand Bahama participating in Agape House's youth week. Overseeing youth week, which is being held under the theme "Another Level, Discovering Your Purpose," are Agape House Youth Pastors William and Valerie Duncombe, who are both elated to be able to host some 30 youth and their team leaders. The relationship between Agape House and the Canadian visitors came about as a result of friendships that Agape House Pastors Tony and Ann Grant had formed with locals while residing in Canada. Mr. Duncombe said that this year's theme focuses on revealing to the youth that we were all born with a purpose and that they are to take their purpose to another level in God. But the important thing that they must realize, he said, is that there will be hardships as they try and do so. The visit also gives the Canadian group a taste of Bahamian culture, and vice versa, Mr. Duncombe said. | |
