    Introduction
The history and suffering of Sikhs is one of the most important episodes in the history of India. Guru Nanak Dev founded Sikhism in the fifteen century and he was followed by nine Gurus (divine teachers or prophets). Guru Angad developed the Gurumukhi script. Guru Ram Das laid the foundation for the city of Amritsar . Guru Arjan Dev compiled the Adi Granth, the sacred text of Sikhs. But it was Guru Gobind Singh who gave Sikhism a renewed vigor and mass following in the seventeenth century. The principle of Sikhism was that there was but one God, and all men who were servants of God and Guru, and were bound together in a holy brotherhood known as the Khalsa. Guru Gobind Singh also built the institution of Akalis. The Akalis were fiercely religious devotees soldiers of God. Late in the twentieth century (1970s and 1980s), the Akalis were to wage a bloody fight against the Indian Government that led to massive armed offensive against them. Today, people of Sikh religion can be found all over the world, due to years of persecution in their homeland (in 1738 by Nadir Shah, in 1748 to 1751 by Ahmed Shah Abdadi, by British in 1849, and in 1984 by Government militia) as well as due to their entrepreneur spirit. The Sikhs (or Sardarjis as they are popularly known) have been great patrons of art, religion and scholarship. Along with Rajputs, they are the known as the bravest people in India, and their women, among India's most beautiful. The Sikhs have participated in India's nation building for hundreds of years, fighting the British, serving in the military (the Sikh regiment is the most decorated regiment of the Indian army) and excelling in sports, and even served as the Presidents (Gianni

Nintendo has been a proud and powerful company in popularizing video game systems after the fall of Atari. The newest Nintendo console has been announced, and it will determine if the company falls victim to its own poor judgement and marketing.

    Based upon R5 Preview Release
Hello and thanks for choosing KnoppMyth . This document will describe what KnoppMyth is and how to install it! Please read the entire document before doing an install even if you've installed before. Some changes have been made.
    What is KnoppMyth
    • Short Answer: KnoppMyth is Knoppix optimized for MythTV Long Answer: Our vision is a distribution that makes it trivial to setup a set-top box.
We've included everything that believe is needing to reach this goal.
And, in fact, the developers use this distribution on their own PVR 's.
    What is Knoppix?
What is MythTV? Cool! So does this run completely from the CD?
    • No. You can use the CD as a frontend, but KnoppMyth must be installed to the hard drive.
Will it ever run completely from the CD?
    • Maybe.
So what else is included? Why isn't program X included?
    • I only installed what I thought was needed. This doesn't mean you cannot install it yourself:
      apt-get update
      packageX
Why should I use KnoppMyth instead of dristribution X?

    Cocoa Development in Emacs
Where the future was made yesterday.
By Mark Dalrymple on March 24, 2002. This is my typical workspace Presented here for your amusement are some directions on how I use emacs (rather than Project Builder) as the primary focus for my Cocoa development time. These may be of interest to folks who like to use emacs for everything, or for those folks coming from other unix platforms and don't like using Project Builder to edit source code. I've moved the motivation for all of this to the rants section at the end. I figured most folks aren't interested in my ego my history and just want to get to the good stuff. The instructions presented here match my particular development style. I don't mind my build environment having some rough edges. I don't mind having to expend a little extra mental energy when doing my work. I also want to minimize keystrokes when it makes sense. I do want my compile and running and debugging turnarounds to be as fast as possible. (Make Mistakes Faster was the advertising tag line for a classic Mac C compiler) Once my emacs buffers get warmed up, I've gotten my compiling and running down to two keystrokes each (well, three if you count "return". From here on I'm not counting the "return" key. nyah). With everything running in one emacs process, I never have to touch the mouse (or the annoying TiBook trackpad) while I'm reading or editing source code or browsing the system header files. I do use Mail.app for mail reading and
