President's message...
Michael Lockrey Welcome to the Deaf Sports Australia (DSA) website and my first message as President of DSA. DSA had a very successful time in 2004 and that culminated at the Deaflympic Games in Melbourne, January 2005. The Australian Deaflympic Team were the best performed since 1989 and the friendships and memories will stay with us for a long time. It was a fantastic experience for me to be a part of this team (as a soccer player) and I am very proud of our achievements and the friendship and dedication shown across all of the sports.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF 'TAFTA'

The Australian Forum for Textile Arts, Ltd (TAFTA) was started in 1974 at a meeting held at Sturt Crafts Centre, Mittagong, New South Wales. Twenty-five people attended, a main topic for discussion was the lack of trained textile teachers in the crafts. Six formative years followed, with many topics being considered; then Brisbane hosted FORUM '80, concentrating on workshops, and communication among a wide variety of textile craftspeople. A number of things resulted from this conference, including the decision to go ahead with a magazine, 'Fibre Forum' - which has now become TEXTILE Fibre Forum

Promoting and regulating competitive endurance riding in Australia.

Photography by Sue Crockett
Endurance riding rekindles the spirit of the old bushmen - the stoicism, bravery, mental toughness, grit and guts of the men and women, who in times gone by, depended on horses for their lives. It gives present generations continuity with their past. Long-distance riding and testing of the endurance capacity of horses in Australia goes back more than 200 years. Between the late 18th and early 20th centuries, Australia was a major supplier of mounts for the British cavalry in India, and 100,000 horses went with the Australian Light Horse to the Middle East in the First World War. Australia is the world's top-ranking medal-winner in endurance. It is also the foremost breeder of purebred and part-bred Arabian horses, producing star performers with exceptional bloodlines and the bone and attitude that reflect their free-range lifestyle in Australia's wild terrain and weather.

C Division - Week 3
C Grade Rocks !!!!

Wild Boars vs. The Uncos by Lana Kuipers This weeks game saw the Unco's defeated 3:1, however, that didn't mean they went down without a fight. Attacking player in his debut season, Marc Kuipers, scored not only the Unco's only goal, but also the opening goal of the game within the first two minutes. Great moment for all Unco's - ice bound and benched alike. Under the guidance of Russ Gregory and Chris Dezman, the team began to flourish and improve greatly. Star players this week, Pierce Van de Pol and Beck Collier in attacking positions were assisted by fantastic defence-people, Dan Binns (AC), Jess Olford (AC), Emma Cahill and many great attempts on goal made by respective members of the Wild Boars were quashed by the incredible talents of the Unco's resident goalie, Matt Harris. All in all it was a nail-biting match to observe. The Replacements vs. The Unforgiven by No One(Slackers)

about us
... sitemap Kangaroo Paw Flower Essences -also called Flower Remedies- are prepared in Australia by Ian White from wild plants. They work on our state of mind, on the emotional level and will help us keep our life running on course by re-establishing our inner balance. They make us feel better by giving us inner balance and harmony. We have taken them for many years ourselves. The healing properties of flowers have been used for thousands of years. Australian Aborigines, ancient Egyptians and many other cultures knew of these healing properties. In the 15th century Paracelsus treated emotional imbalances with dew collected from plants. Dr Edward Bach discovered the healing properties of English plants for the modern world sixty years ago and Ian White is continuing his work. Australia is the oldest continent on Earth. The plants of Australia have a deep beauty and strength. They grow on the oldest soil. Whenever you walk through the rainforest, through the hot Outback or on a high alpine meadow you can feel the strength of this land and every living thing around you. It is this strength that these uniquely Australian remedies use to help you heal yourself.
