Seminoles Prevail In ACC Showdown

Florida State gave Boston College a rude welcome to the Atlantic Coast Conference. A.J. Nicholson intercepted two passes, scoring on a 19-yard return on the first play of the game, and Greg Carr caught two touchdowns to help eighth-ranked Florida State beat No. 17 Boston College 28-17 on Saturday night and spoil the Eagles' ACC debut. Nicholson's interceptions sparked the Seminoles (3-0, 2-0) to a 14-0 lead in the first five minutes before BC scored 17 unanswered points to take the lead. The Eagles (2-1) nursed the lead - thanks to a great play by Mathias Kiwanuka - until quarterback Quinton Porter left with an ankle injury and Florida State took advantage. Read more

Kurian and Trilisky Lead Jackets at FSU Invitational
Off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2001, 15th-ranked Georgia Tech (3-0, 1-0 ACC) travels to No. 4 Virginia Tech (3-0, 2-0 ACC) for a key Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division contest, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va.
Georgia Tech stayed unbeaten, even with Reggie Ball in the hospital. Redshirt freshman Taylor Bennett threw a touchdown on his first college pass, backup tailback Tashard Choice scored the first two TDs of his career and the No. 16 Yellow Jackets defeated Connecticut 28-13 Saturday night. Georgia Tech (3-0) scored another TD on Kenny Scott's 21-yard interception return, the low point of a miserable game for Huskies quarterback Matt Bonislawski.
Georgia Tech quarterback Reggie Ball, hospitalized since Saturday morning, has been diagnosed with viral meningitis and is expected to remain at Emory Hospital until Monday.
