  • AST 101: Introduction to Astronomy [3 cr]
    This course provides a broad descriptive survey of astronomy. Topics covered include the night sky, seasons, moon phases, eclipses, tides, telescopes, light, atoms, spectra, properties of stars, stellar evolution, the Milky Way, galaxies, cosmology, and the solar system. The course format is lecture-discussion. Offered each term. No prerequisites.
    General Education Category 3 (Natural Science).
  • AST 102: Introduction to the Planets [3 cr]
    This course provides students with a survey of our solar system, including the Sun, the planets and their satellites, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids.
