Commentary An email from Baghdad paints an interesting picture:
"Things here are going very well. The media is our most ruthless enemy. I genuinely believe that most of them want us to lose...
"We're winning though. I walk freely through Baghdad...There is a lot we do to prevent attacks, and better trained units do the best...
"Most of what you hear about Iraq is an exaggeration by the media and soldiers. You know, every pogue/REMF wants to say that he (and now she) was in heavy action. None of them are..."

6. Likely situations for CSC Cooperation between U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and Marine Corps in Combat.
  • Navy/Marlne liaison personnel in U.S. Army units . In combat actions close to the ocean, where U.S. Army units can receive close air support or gunfire support from Navy ships offshore, the Army headquarter units may be augmented by Navy or Marine air liaison teams and naval gunfire liaison teams. If these personnel develop BF, they should be treated in the same way and in the same facilities close to the Army unit as the Army and Air Force personnel (see para 5.a.).
  • Downed pilots . If Navy or Marine Corps aviators are shot down over Army territory or are recovered from behind enemy lines, they should be treated as in para 5.b. while they are being returned to their units or to Navy/Marine medical facilities. Conversely, Army aviators who are recovered or rescued by Marine or Navy units should receive similar treatment from their rescuers and, if necessary, from Marine/Navy MH/CSC personnel until returned to the Army.
  • Neighboring units . If Marine Corps and Army units are fighting alongside each other, as happened in the WWII Pacific Theater, Korea, Vietnam, and Southwest Asia, they may use each other's medical/surgical facilities. This would most likely occur as a result of the air evacuation of serious surgical wounded cases.

From Chris Plante CNN National Security Producer WASHINGTON A flap over the Army's plan to buy more than 600,000 black berets with "made in China" labels has been put to rest by the Pentagon's number two civilian leader. QUOTE "U.S. troops shall not wear berets made in China, or berets made with Chinese content" - Pentagon statement ( Read the complete statement - requires Adobe Acrobat Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz Tuesday said the berets won't be made in Communist China. The announcement drove a stake through the heart of a plan by Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki to distribute 1.4 million black berets to soldiers by June 14, which is the Army's birthday. "The Army Chief of Staff has determined that U.S. troops shall not wear berets made in China, or berets made with Chinese content," the statement says. "I direct the Army and the Defense Logistics Agency to take appropriate action to recall previously distributed berets and dispose of the stock" already purchased, Wolfowitz statement said.

U.S. Army ROTC Military Science program is not an academic major. Military Science classes give you College/University credit while learning the essential skills needed for leadership and everyday life. The classes also apply the "hands-on" approach to learning. The course work is accomplished in class with virtually no take-home work. The hands-on approach to training delivers an immediate impact. Most students have little difficulty with ROTC courses since grading consists of participation and willingness to do the best you can in each class.
