In March and April 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked so that even if an individual was found in more than one county, he/she could be located in the index. This idea has been expanded, includes all areas of the United States, and became the USGenWeb Project. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. In loving memory of Nell Jarrell, my mom and St. Francis County connection. May 13, 1927 to February 8, 1999. She smiled more, laughed more, had more friends, and made more chocolate cakes than most people can in three lifetimes. Do you have stories to share? I had a query about the Laughrun clinic. Many of us had relatives who were born or died there in the 30's and 40's. If you have information to share about this clinic or other doctors in St. Francis County please email me and I will post it on the page at some future date. Let me know if there are other catagories you would like people to share information on. Lets fill in some history of St. Francis County! My name is Kim Jarrell Johnson and I oversee the St. Francis County Web pages. My mother was born and raised in St Francis County and I have visited there many times over the years. I still have many many relatives residing in that part of the world and I enjoy the connection I feel with my southern kin as I work on this page. Through the miracle of modern technology I am able to maintain this page while living in Riverside, CA. To find out more about the USGenWeb project, go to the

I do not live in Poinsettt County and cannot do research
for any specific name or person. I really hate to have to say no, so please don't ask. John Carter sent the following message:
My maternal grandmother's family (father: John Henry Raines; mother: Mahala Adeline Bowers Raines; and at least six of their children) moved from Jackson County, IL, to Poinsett County, AR, around 1900. I have the marriage, birth, and death pages from my grandmother's Bible (the Bible itself did not survive multiple moves and unconditioned storage).
Some of the entries are in a childish hand and are of questionable accuracy. I can send a high resolution TIFF scan of these
