State Of Arizona The state of Arizona has a hierarchy as follows: First, there is the Governor, who runs the whole state. The person who runs all the schools in the state of Arizona is the State Superintendent. He runs the Arizona Department of Education . Which has a mission statement of: " To ensure academic excellence for all students." Which specifically means that the ADE has the expressed responsibility of overseeing the education programs that the state has. In layman's terms: they sign papers all day. Exceptional Education They also sign papers that have to do with "Exceptional Education". Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing would fall under this category. The ADE provides funding (again, through signing papers) to these programs and they, in turn, benefit the Deaf/Hard of Hearing student. Those benefits include Interpreters, Notetakers, Teachers Of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing etc. Notetakers! Interpreters! Teachers!

Click here to download it. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), 20 U.S.C.  1400 et seq., provides federal funds to assist state and local agencies in educating disabled children. The IDEA conditions the receipt of such funds upon a state's compliance with certain goals and procedures. State legislatures and departments of education have enacted statutes and promulgated regulations respectively to ensure compliance with the IDEA requirements. While the federal IDEA statutes and regulations require schools to conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs), they provide little to no guideance on what an FBA is or how to conduct one. Therefore, states have begun to step into the void and pass laws and regulations that are more specific.
