"We can't thank you enough for your work with two of our students. Both of these students were in desperate need of transitional services. Since we work with many young people who are legally homeless, we are well aware of the tremendous need for the community to provide support services." "Through your efforts, both Alan and Sean have not only been provided with transitional housing, but also with counseling and affective support. Your efforts, like ours, result in the knowledge that we can make a difference in the lives of young people." "Please let us know if there is anything we can do to support your program in our community. Thanks again for your assistance." Tim Fisherer
High School Teacher Teens in Transition (TNT)
Since 1989, Teens in Transition (TNT) has helped homeless and near-homeless youth stay in school, prepare for post-high school education, and plan for their futures. TNT works with over 45 local high schools, charter schools, and magnet schools. Each year, the program also works with middle schools and elementary schools that request help for younger youth. Case managers and counselors help students graduate from high school, gain skills for future stability and success, secure housing, and obtain a job or enroll in post-high school education. We provide help in places that are most convenient for youth- in schools, in the community and at our offices. Youth meet with their case manager in groups or individually to cope with daily pressures and to learn that they are not alone.

Family Counseling Agency services a wide and varid population in Tucson and the surounding communities. And FCA has had many stories of success. Take a moment to learn how an FCA program has helped someone in need. Teens in Transition (TNT) Since 1989, Teens in Transition (TNT) has helped homeless and near-homeless youth stay in school, prepare for post-high school education, and plan for their futures. TNT works with over 45 local high schools, charter schools, and magnet schools. Each year, the program also works with middle schools and elementary schools that request help for younger youth.
The Story of "Cindi" "Cindi", a pregnant 19-year-old single mother of two adorable children, had witnessed a lot in her short time on this earth. So had her kids, a two year old girl who was a ball of energy, and her son, almost a year old, yet developmentally ahead of his time. "Cindi" was eight months pregnant with her third child when she came to us for help. The biological fathers of the children were not in "Cindi's" or her children's lives. One was an older man who is currently incarcerated for 15 years because of his relationship with, at-the-time, underage "Cindi". Oscar's father decided to return to live with his parents because, at their home, he didn't have to work or attend high school. "Cindi" was unsure of exactly who was the father of her next baby.

@import url(/css/core.css); State and Federal Requirements Search through our directory of State Departments of Education , which offers contact information and Web links to help you find information about licensure, alternative routes to teacher certification, and financial aid. State Department of Education Requirements Although all states must comply with the federal provision of No Child Left Behind, many states have programs for mid-career changers individuals who already have a bachelor's degree—that are alternatives to the traditional route to teacher certification. Just as teacher certification requirements differ from state to state, so do alternative certification program offerings. In the State Departments of Education directory, RNT provides resources developed by the National Center for Alternative Certification: a coded list of alternative certification programs offered in each state, and an alternative licensure key that describes details about the types of programs offered by each state.
As this information about alternative certification is subject to change, you will still want to call for the most up-to-date information. Some states offer this information online and others will mail you a packet about state-approved alternative certification programs and requirements.

US State Government Aid The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for most state loan, grant and scholarship programs, in addition to the federal loans and grants. When you submit the FAFSA to the US Department of Education, they forward the information on the form to the state student assistance agency. Each state has a different FAFSA submission deadline. If you submit your FAFSA by March 1, you will be in time for all state deadlines, other than Michigan. If you miss the deadline, you will be ineligible to receive state aid for the entire academic year. Procedures for applying for state prepaid tuition programs and the national guard differ from state to state. The amount of information provided on the state web sites varies from state to states. Some states provide comprehensive information about residency requirements , loan, grant, scholarship and prepaid tuition programs and other state aid programs. Others provide minimal information. We recommend visiting the sites for both your state of residence and for the states of the colleges to which you are applying. A B C D ...

Thank You From The Firefighters
To the community in and around Prescott: The staff of the 2005 Arizona Wildfire Academy wishes to give our heartfelt thanks to the community of Prescott. It is because of the support of local agencies, organizations, businesses and community members that the Academy has been so successful. This year, the Academy hosted 781 participants. We had representatives from 25 states, but the vast majority of students, instructors and staff members came from Arizona. A large number of them came from the local Prescott area. While the participants of the 2005 Academy were in the Prescott area, we estimate that approximately $500,000 was added to the local economy. Firefighters stayed in local hotels, ate at local restaurants, and shopped in local stores. But, we hope that they had more than just an economic impact. We hope they represented their organizations and the Arizona Wildfire Academy well. It is important to us that the Prescott community continues to welcome us with open arms as it has the last three years.
