About LISA LISA (LCA in Sustainable Architecture) is a streamlined LCA decision support tool for construction. It was developed in response to requests by architects and industry professionals for a simplified LCA tool to assist in green design. Currently LCA methodologies are too complicated and not widely accessible to designers and specifiers. Also, detailed LCA studies often divert attention from the key environmental issues, and tend to focus attention on inter-material competition, rather than on optimum construction systems. The Potential of Web Services So why all the hype? Web Services obviously have great potential. It's a way to integrate at many different levels. Consider this example. The layout of a medieval garden usually consisted of a square or slightly elongated rectangle. Cloister gardens usually consisted of a more or less square space divided by a cross-shaped path. A feature - perhaps water or a tree - often marked the centre of the cross. It is likely that the courtyard was planted with grass rather than herbs.
