Anguilla Government: Golf is in the Works
To the delight of golf fans everywhere, the Anguilla government has reached an agreement providing for the construction of a $250-million golfing facility on the island, Anguilla's first, at the southwestern town of Rendezvous Bay West. The first phase of the project began in late October 2002 and, according to the Anguilla government, projected completion is slated for sometime in 2005. The deal reached between the Anguilla government and the course's project developers includes a world-class 18-hole championship course, spa, and extensive club house and player facilities. It is the hope of the Anguilla government that the new course will attract a new segment of vacationers to their island, and create jobs for the local people.
While the Anguilla government is moving along with its plans, golfers can still enjoy all that Anguilla has to offer - St. Martin/St. Maarten, home to one 18-hole course, is merely a short ferry or island-hopper ride away.
For more information about the golfing project, contact:

    Home Anguilla Government NA Definition
This entry gives the basic form of government. Definitions of the major governmental terms are as follows:
Anarchy - a condition of lawlessness or political disorder brought about by the absence of governmental authority.
Commonwealth - a nation, state, or other political entity founded on law and united by a compact of the people for the common good.
Communism - a system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single - often authoritarian - party holds power; state controls are imposed with the elimination of private ownership of property or capital while claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people (i.e., a classless society).
Confederacy (Confederation) - a union by compact or treaty between states, provinces, or territories, that creates a central government with limited powers; the constituent entities retain supreme authority over all matters except those delegated to the central government.
Constitutional - a government by or operating under an authoritative document (constitution) that sets forth the system of fundamental laws and principles that determines the nature, functions, and limits of that government.
