History of Syria Often called the Cradle of Civilization and the Gateway to History, Syria has a lot to offer history and the development of civilized man. On the other hand Syria's natural boundaries did nothing for the security of the land… its strategic location also made it vulnerable and many conquerors and attackers were able to conquer Syria. It has been a great crossroad for trade between the Mediterranean and the East; it exported the Alphabet to the West, and has been linked to Religion from the beginning, from the Semitic Deities to the monotheistic faiths. Settling, Agriculture and the Beginning of civilization 9000BC:
This is where civilization began. The development of agriculture in Syria meant settled communities. Tribes and peoples began to prefer agriculture to hunting and with the appearance of bronze and copper tools, agriculture developed quickly. Along with the development in agriculture came a development in trade, as urbanized communities began to engage in various economic activities. Ebla, Mari and the Bronze Age:

DOLLAR HEGEMONY AND THE IRAQ WAR "Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprise and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from those proceed debts and taxes...known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare." Pres. James Madison Most people are unaware that there is an entire behind-the-scenes power struggle going on among the world's nations that transcends everything we see in the media. Few know about it because few understand it. It has to do with world trade and how that trade is conducted. Because this is so important, I have spent a great deal of time getting this all together in a linear fashion to facilitate complete comprehension. The story begins in 1961 with the formation of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries). These 11 countries: Algeria, Libya, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Venezuela, control about 75% of the world's oil reserves. In short, they have a lock on the world's energy future.

The path involves Ancient Wisdom and Philosophy, the Mysteries, Cabala, Hermeticism, Magia, Neoplatonism, Alchemy, Geomancy, Christian teachings, the Arts and Sciences, Physics and Metaphysics, Drama, Entertainment and the Shakespeare authorship mystery. Ancient Egypt Online
Ancient Egypt is one of the most fascinating of the ancient civilizations. Even today, the manner in which modern Egypt has melded with the ancient world is positively astounding. One cannot help but notice that the pull of the ancient world is still very much a part of modern cities such as Cairo and Alexandria. While it would take volumes to write a comprehensive guide to ancient Egypt, we have attempted to provide here a brief introduction to many of the fascinating aspects of daily life in ancient Egypt. In the following pages you will find information about topics most commonly associated with ancient Egypt. Some of this information may be well known to you and other tidbits may be a new discovery on your path to broadening your knowledge. The Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs - Life of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs was filled with power, glory, murder, deceit and mystery. Slip into the world of ancient Egypt where a woman dressed as a man to rule Egypt as pharaoh, then mysteriously disappeared; another pharaoh would stop at almost nothing to institute a monotheistic religion and a boy king was cut down in the prime of life. Since his tomb was first uncovered by Howard Carter in 1922, the world has been curious and in awe of the 'Boy King' who died such a mysterious death at such a

"Ancient History": U.S. Conduct in the Middle East
Since World War Il and the Folly Of Intervention
by Sheldon L. Richman Sheldon L. Richman is senior editor at the Cato Institute. Executive Summary When Iranian revolutionaries entered the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979 and seized 52 Americans, President Jimmy Carter dismissed reminders of America's long intervention in Iran as "ancient history." Carter's point was not merely that previous U.S. policy could not excuse the hostage taking. His adjective also implied that there was nothing of value to be learned from that history. In his view, dredging up old matters was more than unhelpful; it was also dangerous, presumably because it could only serve the interests of America's adversaries. Thus, to raise historical issues was at least unpatriotic and maybe worse.(1) As the United States finds itself in the aftermath of another crisis in the Middle East, it is worth the risk of opprobrium to ask why there should be hostility toward America in that region. Some insight can be gained by surveying official U.S. conduct in the Middle East since the end of World War II. Acknowledged herein is a fundamental, yet deplorably overlooked, distinction between understanding and excusing. The purpose of this survey is not to pardon acts of violence against innocent people but to understand the reasons that drive people to violent political acts.(2) The stubborn and often self-serving notion that the historical record is irrelevant because political violence is inexcusable ensures that Americans will be caught in crises in the Middle East and elsewhere for many years to come.

The patronage of this church has been in the family of Hutton ever since 1598, when Matthew Hutton, archbishop of York, purchased this estate. -In the grounds of J. Hutton, esq. is an obelisk, which covers the body of Matthew Hutton, formerly a captain in the army, who dying in the year 1813 at Macclesfield, requested his executors to bury him in this place, where, when a boy, he had often sat, enchanted with the beauties of this mountainous Country. The Family of Hutton of Marske is the only one in this kingdom who can be said to have yielded to the church two English archbishops, who both appear to have been great and good Prelates," and that within two centuries of each other. The first Matthew Hutton becoming Archbishop of York in 1595, and the second Archbishop of York in 1747 and Canterbury in 1757.
