"Anacondas: Hunt For the Blood Orchid" (2004) - Director: Dwight H. Little - Starring: Johnny Messner, KaDee Strickland, Matthew Marsden.
Anacondas: Hunt For the Blood Orchid is a sequel to 1997's campy semi-classic, Anaconda Anaconda had known names in it, like Jon Voight, Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz, Owen Wilson; and somewhat known names like Kari Wurer, Vincent Castellanos, and Danny Trejo. When you read the cast list in the credits of Anacondas , you are unlikely to recognize any of them (except maybe Morris Chestnut, and even then only if you are a card-carrying fan). The director, Dwight H. Little is hardly a household name either I've seen a few of his movies, but the only one I've even semi liked is Murder at 1600 from way back in 1996.

Cryptozoology
Cryptozoology is a field of study that focuses on researching animals based on myths, eyewitness accounts, and legends. Now, studying legendary animals is not as outlandish as it would first seem once you learn more about the studies, the people conducting the studies, and the discoveries of the past. For instance, the mountain gorilla was based purely in myth until its existence was proved in 1902; as recently as 1992, researches have found a new species of mammal, the large deer-like animal called the Spindlehorn Cryptozoology is not about biology or zoology as it isn't a study of the known, nor is it involved in searching for new species based on scientific speculation. Cryptozoology is not related to mythology either, as the existence of the subjects of the myths and folklore are assumed to be real, and scientific means are usually used to investigate the possibility of existence of these subjects.
Focus of Cryptozoology
The word "cryptozoology" literally means "the study of hidden animals", or the "study of hidden life".

Anaconda by Adam J. Hakari Congo Red Planet The Pest . Some movies were just born to be bad. These are the movies that are so stupid, inane, and eventless, they're a complete joy to observe on either the big or small screen. The aforementioned three are among my favorite guilty pleasures, a trio of the most brainless films on the planet, and to each I'm hopelessly devoted to loving for practically eternity (trust me, if my tastes haven't improved to exclude cheesy monster movies in at least ten years, they never will). Simply add Anaconda to the list, though not nearly as high as the others I mentioned. This is the Friday the 13th kind of guilty pleasure: you know you shouldn't like it so much because of its inability to be scary and overwhelming cheesiness, but there's something about it which entices you to watch the film again and again. Granted, you won't enjoy it more than the first viewing, but you'll learn to appreciate it gradually. Now when I look upon Anaconda , I still see it as a mercilessly cheesy B-movie, but one with pretty good special effects, a couple instances of gripping suspense, and a light head resting upon its shoulders. Scriptwise

Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. No Really. A trailer even.
And from out of left field comes the sequel no one was expecting: Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid . Which, of course is a sequel to the captivatingly bad Anaconda in 1997. First things first, this title is way too bloody long. The Internet Movie Database link I'm linking to has the title listed as "Venom" which is much shorter. I'm not sure which is the final one. Now, I will admit, I actually saw the first Anaconda in the theatre and admittedly, I enjoyed myself in a ridiculous campy "Tell me they staged that horrible shot on purpose" kind of way. And whatever CEO greenlighted this one, I suppose didn't get his campy-snake quota completely filled, because we have another round of what looks like the exactly same movie. A number of pretty people. In Africa for some really strange reason. Who, not surprisingly, know very little about Africa. One of whom, well into the story, turns out to be so goal oriented, he'll kill the other cast members to accomplish the aforementioned goal. (He's the bad guy. - see how this works? If you don't, you're a dummy.) Yahoo has recently posted the trailer here . I will admit, there's a couple of neat shots in the trailer, but like everything else, this is just like the first one only the people are prettier, the goal more elaborate, the snakes more numerous and, as long as the campiness is even campier, I'll watch it. No Jon Voight this time though. Shame.

Big Snakes
The largest-known snake in the world is the Anaconda, or Eunectes murinus , of South America. It holds the world's record for size with one specimen, encountered by petroleum geologist in eastern Columbia in the 1944, measuring 37 1/2 feet in length. Somewhere deep in the southern swamps do they grow bigger? According to Colonel Percy H. Fawcett , a former British Army officer, surveyor and adventurer in the early 1900's, they do: We were drifting easily along on the sluggish current not far below the confluence of tigor and the Rio Negro when almost under the bow there appeared a triangular head and several feet of undulating body. It was a giant anaconda. I sprang for my rifle as the creature began to make its way up the bank, and hardly waiting to aim smashed a .44 soft-nosed bullet into its spine, ten feet below the wicked head. At once there was a flurry of foam, and several heavy thumps against the boat's keel, shaking us as though we had run on a snag... Fawcett describes how they stopped and examined the body. Though he had no ruler, he guessed the length of the creature at sixty-two feet with a twelve-inch diameter. "Such large specimens as this may not be common, but the trails in the swamps reach a width of six feet and support the statements of Indians and rubber pickers that the anaconda sometimes reaches an incredible size dwarfing that shot by me. The Brazilian Boundary Commission told me of one exceeding eighty feet in length!"

The anaconda is the biggest snake in the world. Also known as the Water Boa, this giant, meat-eater lives in swampy areas of tropical (warm) South America. It spends a lot of time in shallow water, hidden from unsuspecting prey. Anacondas are related to boa constrictors. They give birth to live young; 20 to 40 baby snakes are born at one time. Anatomy : Like all snakes, anacondas are cold-blooded; they are the same temperature as the environment. They continue to grow all their lives, getting bigger and bigger each year. The longest anaconda ever found was 37.5 feet (11.4 m) long, there are probably even bigger anacondas that have not been seen. Anacondas are greenish-brown with a double row of black oval spots on the back and smaller white markings on the sides. Their scaly skin glistens but is dry is to the touch. The nostrils are on top of the snout, letting the snake breathe easily when it is in the water. It smells with its tongue. It has no fangs. Hunting and Diet : Anacondas are carnivores (meat-eaters). They mostly hunt at night (they are nocturnal). Anacondas kill by constricting (squeezing) the prey until it can no longer breathe. Sometimes they drown the prey. Like all snakes, they swallow the prey whole, head first. The anaconda's top and bottom jaws are attached to each other with stretchy ligaments, which let the snake swallow animals wider than itself. Snakes don't chew their food, they digest it with very strong acids in the snake's stomach. Anacondas eat pigs
